I own the Q990D, and while it's amazing, it's main feature is 120 Hz. The sound quality is basically identical.

Seems like the deal is dead, I can see the price on the search page but once I click into it, the price goes back up.

Just worked for me as well. The only additional discount I could get was $50 off a $1000 order. I added two to my cart, applied the coupon, then reduced my qty to 1 and the discount stuck.

Very good price. I have 3 generations of this so far, Q990B and the two years before it. Skipped the Q990C as it didn't feel like much of a jump over the 990B however Q990D has HDMI2.1. It was 975$ pretax for me while logged in and using my smartspend employee perks. So if you're on the fence, you can get a Q990D for about 300$ more. If not, the Q990C is still a bangin' deal at 685$

Finally the rep said he is ordering a replacement subwoofer. After a week I did not get any acknowledgment email stating that a sub was sent. I contacted the customer service to return it. Reading the Samsung website, I now see a lot of reviews stating hardware disconnection issues or annoying sounds coming from one or more of the speakers. Also, I did not find the soundbar worth the price. IMO, if you have a high end TV, the speakers without subwoofer is no better than TV speakers.
My first order also came with a subwoofer that constantly disconnected every 10-15 seconds. I tried plugging it in multiple outlets and swapping out the power cables too. I called product support and they also confirmed the sub is defective after a few reset and standard procedure tests. They advised I place a new order + return as a means for the fastest replacement. Glad to say my 2nd new set is functioning without any dropouts. The Samsung Q990c is pretty good but I have a much better 3.1 Kef R Meta setup in my living room so it's not a fair comparison. Overall for this price it's good in comparison to other soundbars but be prepared to test everything. If you're unlucky and receive a defective item, be prepared to lug a heavy ass box to UPS for a return.

I was able to finally get it to work and ordered one after thinking about it over night. Excited to retire my current sound bar!

What is the point of 120 hz? You mean audio can't keep up with game play at 120 hz and will be a major delay lag or on movies too? Why would anyone need hdmi 2.1 if games play fine on Xbox and ps5 on 2.0?

$300 more for the D is not technically worth it. 120 hz and hdmi 2.1 is really unnecessary to most if any would even notice the difference but if u want the latest model then yeah. Everything else on specs is practically the same.

The 120 Hz ability is valuable when you are going through the soundbar for your inputs instead of using eARC. The advantage of that kind of setup is you avoid the kind of audio lag that eARC can introduce, especially if you leverage DD Atmos.
