Made in Japan, not US. I have their 3/8" impact"Attack" driver [kokenusa.com], and it's excellent. Would like to see a Project Farm of it going against the tool truck brands as I suspect it may beat them.

Ko-ken is quite well known among professionals, but they are more of a higher end and pricier niche brand vs Harbor Freight (Pittsburgh, ICON, Quinn). I would compare Ko-Ken against HFT's ICON line and not their lower rent Quinn line. Ko-Ken is also definitely less well known than Snap-On, MAC, Matco and Gearwrench with the general public. That said, 2024 is their 75th anniversary, so they've been around for quite a long time.

There are a ton of reviews online - just search "Koken review" on YouTube and you'll find a seemingly endless choice of dudes yapping about Ko-Ken ratchets and sockets.

One last note - I have a bunch of Ko-Ken sockets, but I usually buy Ko-Ken's specialty sockets and not their "basic" lines. I have a set of their ultra compact Zeal line sockets and a full set of their Surface Drive deep well sockets as well as some singleton Nut Grabber sockets.

Every year during Christmas I buy a bunch of these for my local mechanic and put them in a stocking, and if he's been a "bad boy" that year, i'll give it to his wife to hang on the tree after he goes to sleep.

I highly recommend koken to anyone starting out building a new toolkit. The tools made by koken are of high quality and their zeal line up has zero play in sockets and ratchets they grab onto fasteners with perfect fit , no more rounded bolts and fasteners. . The only 4 tool brands i use from japan are koken, nepros, vessel and lobster tools.
10 mm goes missing when a person is careless. I have never had a missing socket.

$3.44 for a single 1/4" drive socket is a deal? Serious question, not trolling. I've never heard of this brand and I could get a big name brand for that kind of money. I could also buy Quinn and save about 80% while still having a lifetime warranty.

Have had the same toolkit for like 10 years, and like you said no missing pieces.

Luckily for these companies, there's a bunch of losers (pun intended) who can't keep track of their stuff.
