Hmm, 1 store near me shows in stock at normal price on HD website. Brickseek shows two stores had it at $54 but are out of stock.

The other local store near me did not have it on clearance. Online it said it my one store only had one in stock, but they had two on the shelf. Thanks for sharing the info, means the deal goes out beyond my one store at least.

This thing works fairly well. It is nice to have a small SDS drill.

Don't expect Bosch performance, but it fills it's niche very well.

Have this, its a solid tool.. big big jobs I use the harbor frieght plug in one (blows away any brand battery powered one by far).

Couple quick holes for mounting or for chiseling away something small ill grab the ryobi though.

I have the 1" Ryobi SDS. When I bought it I thought maybe I will use it occasionally. It is now one of my most used power tools. The 1" will do hammer only, not just hammer drill. The 1" SDS is far superior to my powered makita hammer drill to drill holes in concrete and rebar. I use it for tile, concrete and digging holes in the yard through hard clay soil to plant.

What type of bits do you use to drill clay?

For ceramic tile I like to use a DeWalt or Milwaukee hammer drill. There's less of a chance to crack the tile because a hammer drill has a much shorter stroke than an SDS.
