Bought this last year at this price. Watch out, the price likely might drop to $999 in few weeks, like it did last year. You can price match.

Check with your local water supply for rebates. They usually have $200 rebates for this energy efficient model.

Nearly 3 year old model. Why would anyone buy this when the AIO models from GE LG and Samsung are going for the same price and gets refundable 30% tax rebate?
AIO's don't work for some people's use case. I do three to four loads back to back when I do laundry. AIO's would almost double my time.

Dryer will need 230v so if you don't have a dryer outlet open your wallet.. You do realize gas is vastly cheaper than a non heat pump dryer like this to run? If you are absolutely gung ho on all electric and don't have 230v then consider one of the overpriced sure to fail heat pump ones which will run on 120v.
Hey, thanks for your response. Yea, kind of trying to switch to all electric everything. Not gung ho on it though. I know it's cheaper to run on gas today. I'm hoping that one day in the future, probably not in my lifetime to be honest, that I could completely self sufficient using just solar panels... I know that I'm kidding myself only. anyways, that' besides the point...

So the standard gas dryer outlet (I know that's not how it works, but consider your typical gas based dryer, whatever the outlet for that would be), is that usually 230v?

I heard they're a disaster. Unreliable. Prone to breaking. Parts unavailable. Take forever to dry. Some people have to hang their clothes to get out the last bit of dampness.

Is the sidekick washer good? Tempting for this option but always afraid it will be break easily…
We have the sidekick. It's been awesome. Picked it up at BB as an open box for $150. We use it all the time.

The prices are already dropping to $1500- ish on sale...just got in on the LG AIO Costco deal with a nice stove for $2100 delivered. HD/Lowes similiar. Where is your "sure to fail" evidence, I guess 40yrs+ technology is too "New" for you huh? Most reviews regarding AIOs are pretty positive and they've been out for over a year now
Yeah a heat pump is not anything new, putting it in a W/D combo in US models is fairly new and the ones just a few years old are failing due to lint and removal which they have supposedly made better but there is no evidence of that because the ones already a few years old are failing. And these are not simple switch out the control panel and a few parts, there is a complex heat pump in this and good luck finding a tech who can competently fix it. So you know what they will do is what Apple does, if any part of it breaks throw it away because the repair will exceed the cost. Now I know LG has 5 year warranty and GE I think longer (maybe 10) but that is for parts. And good luck. A friend just has a dishwasher break (under warranty) and it took 3 months to get parts (this is GE).

In any case I will stick to repairing my old skool LG until it gives out the ghost it is coming up on 15 years old. I hate to say it any appliance made in the last 10 years is practically e-waste and these AIO are going to cost a kings ransom to fix when they break in a few years when you forget to religiously forget to get all the lint out.

I have solar, but it is a tool I cannot depend wholly on it and for me I have gas because if the grid fails I can still heat my home and run a generator. I also have a BEV and 2 PHEV and no way any solar can keep up with that, so I charge in the wee hours of the night when I get TOU electricity at like 5c KWh. Its a myth to think you can run electronic vehicles, heat/cool your house, and convert hot water using all electric you would need a massive solar plant. Mine is a 12 KWh system and it powers the house but I also charge the vehicles outside of that, have NG hot water, NG heat, NG appliances. To go all electric for all of this would easily 2-3x current, and that is not financially feasible nor do I have enough space for the 150-250 panels needed.

However to answer your question almost all electric dryers are 230V because they take 3-4 KWh to run, except for the very newest AIO (all in ones) with heat pumps that take 120V but they take 3-4 hours per load and have many gotchas at least for now. My neighbor bought one (GE) and returned it after two weeks.

Gas dryers run on 120V (a regular home outlet) because all they need to power is the drum, fan, igniter, and the electronics (under 100W). The heat source comes from the gas which is where the bulk of the energy comes from. Mine takes like 80W when it is running.

I bought this LG pair last year when moving to a new house. The washer is okay but the dryer is kinda meh. Sometimes i had to run an extra cycle to get clothes dry. Some bell and whistle technology like an mobile app which you can track the washer and dryer operations, download extra specific cycles. But overall, not impressed. My friend has a GE dryer which can easily get this LG smoked. I will go for GE the next purchase.
There's a cycle you can download, with the app, that's 1 step dryer than the very dry setting. It's the one I always use.
If it's anything like my model, you can download the cycle 1 time with the app. Then the Download Cycle option will become that cycle forever until you overwrite it.
It even persists after power loss.

Is it possible to get the gas dryer instead for the same price?
