I miss Carl. I'd just like to hear him say "billions upon billions" one more time.

This is an amazing book. More people need to apply its principles: "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Great book. I just reread it last week for the first time since college, and his core messages are as relevant now as then.

I thought the joke was that he never actually said that phrase.

"I said there are maybe 100 billion galaxies and 10 billion trillion stars. It's hard to talk about the Cosmos without using big numbers...But I never said 'billions and billions.' For one thing, it's too imprecise." -Carl Sagan

"Sagan became associated with the catchphrase "billions and billions", although he never actually used the phrase in the Cosmos series. He rather used the term "billions upon billions."

Which is also the term I used.
