Thanks OP I grabbed one. For $129 as long as it works I don't give a s*** if it has a single hose or not.

Not enough air flow.

If you look at any portable ac threads, there's lots more detail but basically single hose causes a vacuum. The air gets pulled in to the unit then exhausted out of the single hose, so that air is coming from somewhere, e.g. other parts of your home, and ultimately cracks and crevices pulling in outside air to make up for the negative pressure. Dual hose doesn't do this. Best analogy I've seen on these forums is trying to fill a tub with the drain plug open. With enough water pressure you can fill the tub but it's highly less efficient than filling a tub with the drain plugged.

Show me a dual-hose for $129 and we'll talk. Heck, show me a dual-hose for under $400.

totally over thinking the situation. I have a couple of single hose. While they might not be the most efficient, for the price they do a decent job.

Not disputing that, was simply answering the question. They have their use cases and initial capital investment is generally less. E.g. if you are adding supplemental cooling to a home with HVAC. Long term they will consume more power and are less efficient. To each their own.
