These hardly go on sale or ever have this good of a rebate. I just bought one and didn't even have to submit a rebate, the store just applied the rebate and sold it to me at $200 off. Out the door with a $35 delivery fee, $23 hose and haul away service I paid $1327.

This is the best model in terms of cleaning power.

The TC5 is not a good washer, despite its brand name. Gets bad reviews all the time. You can find an LG, Whirlpool, or Maytag for half the price and much longer warranty, that does a much better job at cleaning your laundry.
Respectfully to wherever you see those reviews ( including consumer reports).... they are full of shit.

I've owned a TC5 since 2021 and it's a beast. Any stain I pretreat lifted. Hot water and soak work exactly like they're supposed too. Basic cleaning works just fine. Delicate setting has not ripped one piece of clothing despite the bullshit online (that I didn't believe to begin with).

The only thing missing from this model is a low water setting. That's the EPA's doing forcing all the loopholes Speed Queen had to jump through to keep selling this washer version. Idiots.

I will never use a different brand if I have the option. Ignore those reviews. Wash clothes properly and they'll come out clean.

100% disagree. We've been buying washers and dryers for 41 years. Any new washer on the market isn't gonna last five years. All the new ones people buy, I have rental houses that I watch for people, a lot of them don't work right out of the box or shortly within four weeks. They don't provide enough water to wash the clothes. I completely understand that we're trying to conserve on water and energy. However, giving up clean clothes is simply not worth it.

The whole point of a good washer is that you only need to run it one cycle instead of two so you're not wasting electricity or water!
I got a front load washer that has been so dang good that I've been forced to use LESS detergent else it'll get stuck on trying to remove the suds. Never thought I'd be a cold-water washer but here I am.

I can't agree with your assessment outside of the potential for durability

I didn't think it was possible, but it seems people in the year of our lord, 2024, can't figure out how to do a load of laundry properly. What a world!

Have you tried reading the owner's manual for your washer?
Your doing it again. Take off your sunglasses and read the thread. Washers are using less water and not washing properly. It could be the year of your lord or devil, shit still wont work right if it aint made right. Rofl

False!! My TC5 is 10 yrs old & hasn't needed serviced once. Does laundry for a family of 5. Speed Queen out does all other brands with their warranty & all metal parts. No plastic
Yep. Zero complaints here.

Was thinking of buying this. Can anyone recommend anything better, of have a good dryer recommendation?
I did a ton of research a couple years back, this is probably the best. The close 2nd, and the one I got is the commercial Maytag (not the one Lowe's has). Both are not efficient but efficient washers don't get clothes clean. Maytag model MVWP575GW

Keep in mind while these do clean very well and are reliable the tub is pretty small vs the front loader because of the agitator

Also my LG front loader has been running good for 14 years so far surprisingly given all the horror stories people post here.

I have had some problems with the one I have but not mechanical but rather electrical. I will come to pull a load out only to find the tub still has water in it and the front lights were flashing. Since it was under warrenty, I calld the dealership . The guy came out, I showed him a vid I shot of the lights flashing. He said he never heard of the issue. He pulled out his phone and started to search the web with no luck. The only help was to unplug 5 min and restart the load. He could not even find info to interpet the flashing lights.

Since then that happens once a month, but I had found some info on the net. Actually it all made sense afer I read that stuff. These things spin verrrrry fast and the clothes come out almost dry. To make it "safe" for home use, it is critical that the door safety switch reports that the door is closed. I now listen for that door lock / Switch clicking. If it can not verify the door is locked, it stops and posts a code. If there is a wakness it is that. There must be a issue in the design or firmware on the model I have. I still love the thing because dry times are so mutch lower. I got it for right near $1000 as I recall in 2021 (when the guys could come to your house again after the man made contagen was released.). After learning that was the issue I have leaned to work with it untill I cant and then I will make use of that warrenty in hopes the switch / lock gets ugaded replacement parts.

When operating these DO NOT try to open it up the door during the operation at all. The door will be locked and pulling it open could damage that plastic lock . While my tech was here, I got to look at what is inside. I was dumbfounded how small the drive motor was. How it spins the drum so fast seems crazy to me based on its size. The tech did some continuity checks on the switch and put it back together then scratched his head. He said it works now ( it was unplugged for the 5 min whie he took it apart) and if it happens again, call him. Well I cant say for sure, but I think it is a bad swich/lock design. It also may throw a code for un ballaned load, but since I was having issues with water in the tub, I have concluded it is the switch. It is a small plastic piece that seems rather light for the job it was intended for. I can easily see pulling up on the locked door stressing the lock / switch.

I would still buy again. I would also tell folks that never open it up while any light is on the controll board. My old washer only cared if I opend it up while on the spin cycle. After years and years of bad habbits adding stuff by just flipping open the lid is probably a bad habbit.. Now I can see how I might have damaged the switch. I might have caused the issue with out noticing or thinking.

Some one chimed in that these are not as watter eficiant? I do not see how. It has a sensor that adds just enough water to cover the load (remember mine crashes after the water fill). I do use the extra rinse every time, but that is a personal preferance (Skin issues).
just bypass the switch...

If you want the highest quality and most protective for fabric - it's speed queen TR7003 , it probably won't clean extremely dirty clothes as well as TR5 - which has excessive mechanical action on the fabric. I prefer TR7003 just because I don't end up with anything excessively dirty. Other brands such as Miele is very good especially for the apartment having the bowl size is very small

My clothes come out clean and my washer uses "less water". Sounds like a "you" problem, bud. Maybe you should hire a professional to launder your AmazonBasics FlexFit cargo shorts if you need 50 gallons of water to clean last night's 30 piece bucket of KFC out of them.

I love my Amazon essentials stretch chinos. Best bang for your buck work pants by far.

My 5 year old HE Kenmore that was $450 cleans our clothes just fine, even with cheap Arm and Hammer detergent and with the sensor putting in only as much water as it needs to. It allows a deep fill and has an agitator. I'd never pay $1300 for a washer despite the gushing on forums and here on SD. SD is about good enough, not about best.
