This case uses Dell proprietary parts? Or upgradeable?

Great deal but from reviews I have read that both Dell and Lenovo have locked propriety mobos. Mad

Guess I will have to build another one, though it's been awhile since 2500k/2600k were #1 Ha ha

If it's anything like the R9-R15 then the PSU and Motherboard are proprietary and won't work outside of that case with out major moding. on the bright side through the R16 case does support a larger GPU than the old series of cases and the 1000w psu is solid just loud at times.

OC and ram are super unstable in the non stock configuration and it has very limited options. If you do try most of the values are in hexadecimal values (0-F) not typical numeric 0-9 values (Ram Timings/Multipliers)

Why would you care if the mobo is proprietary locked? 14900k is the top of the end of this intel generation - meaning it's the end of the line of this generation and this is the best CPU.

If you ever want to upgrade you'd need a new mobo anyway…

I'm currently just casually browsing the gaming desktop field, since my 4 year old Lenovo Legion laptop is crapping out. But I think I will wait till Intel's Arrow Lake generation CPUs with NPU release later this year. Anyone has any opinion on that?

Yes wait on next gen cpu and gpu. Worst case you will get this exact setup listed for cheaper 👍

Not only is it a proprietary motherboard, it is also the power supply size/format, connectors, case size, etc. The only things you could keep in a rebuild is the CPU, ram, SSD, and GPU. I think the cooler may also be proprietary.

Just FYI, It's an extra $150 for the 14900KF, this one comes with the 14900F.
