The problem with these kind of sets is that when you are in need of one of these, its not included in the set. I recently bought a kit of orings with 44 sizes and the one I needed wasnt one of the 44 sizes so I had to buy that one separately M2 and M3 screws are used in computers.M2 is the one usually that holds down the NVMe drive and you need an M2 x 3 or 4 mm, which of course, isnt included in this set.

I would like to see the glass they show being repaired in the pictures with this set after the repair, I presume with the 8mm bolts since that is the smallest they provide.

Do yourself and your wallet a favor, and get these from Harbor Freight if you can.

M2 4mm is easy, just cut the M2 8mm in half. If you don't have a tool that can cut fasteners maybe you don't need this kit.

When you cut threaded screws, you mess up the threads right where the cut is. Then you need a die to fix the threads. Another tool needed. Easier to just get the right length. And if you say dont bother using a die, then its obvious you havent tried this on computers with their aluminum threads that easily mess up with a stainless screw.

....so keep a small hardware stocked in your garage!

These kits aren't ever meant to cover every single possible contingency. They just cover a lot of bases.

It's just the sad fact that Americans are one of the precious delicate few countries in the world that still cling to SAE instead of widely-adopted Metric sizing. They love to wistfully wrench on grandpappy's old gas-guzzling clunker.

So if you need a metric fastener, GOOD LUCK finding one at your local hardware store. You have 90% SAE and 10% Metric, if you're lucky.

The only way to get most metric is to special-order it from the internet.
Are you from the past? Home depot fastener aisle is mostly metric.

These are small enough a quick debur with a nail file will work fine. Use the nail pick from your cheapo nail clipper and you are done. Heck you can chase the thread with a simple flat screw driver you should have since your working with these tiny screws already.

You seriously don't need a die for this. It's common for electricians to trim their longer standard outlet and plate holder screws down to the size they need. The ones in the package are not long enough, so a box of those is basically required for random job sites with old mashed up work.

Not in any of the hardware stores near me.

Ace, Lowes, Home Despot...doesn't matter, it's 90% standard, 10% metric. And it's only the most generic metrics too. Forget about anything nuanced.

You put a nut on it before you cut, when you take the nut off it chases the threads perfectly. Most wire strippers shear small fasteners like these pretty well. Some nice ones have one of the jaws threaded to do the nut trick described above for quick and exact cuts.
