$200 less than buying it directly from the manufacturer. Seems like a good deal for a 72" with solid wood top.

I bought one of these, along with the workbench/chest below, thanks to the recs I got here a couple years back. Just wanted to pay the favor forward and share that the whole line is awesome. Super happy with my purchase - and super tempted to pick up a couple of the rolling cabinets they have on sale.

$20 off the normal price doesn't seem so slick, is this the best it normally gets?

Have owned almost 20 pieces from Seville Classics UltraHD series for well over a decade and they've been nothing but awesome! Definitely still the best bang for the buck for metal furniture of this type! Nothing else even comes close!
It's crazy that their prices haven't gone up over the years! I own four of the workbenches in this post and $220 is what I paid for them over a decade ago.

I use two of these in a "L" shape for my office setup. Better than any ikea fake wood countertop desks!

I did the same thing. It's been pretty solid. I have a 34 inch, ultra wide monitor mounted to a wall, and the depth of the desk is the most shallow I would recommend for a monitor that size, meaning, you'd want a deeper desk if you have a wider monitor.

The bench tops are pretty damn heavy, so probably best if you have 2 people for assembly.

This is a good price for what you're getting. I just received one as a gift and it's the best workbench I've owned. Very sturdy. Nice and thick wooden top. Adjustable height. Good size. Have a PC at one end and Ender 3 3D printer at the other, and there's still room in between for sitting or standing at the bench to work on projects. I'll own this for a long time. May purchase another to create an "L" shape.

I'm currently looking for a protective mat, like rubber or silicone, to cover the entire surface. Anyone have any suggestions?

Well…while I doubt this will be of much interest, I have a custom-sized self-healing rotary cutting mat - kind of like the one linked below - on mine. It's been perfect for my needs.

(If you've even sewn a quilt, you know what it means to be able to spread out yards of layered fabric on a mat with grid lines that can bounce back despite your insistence on repeatedly gouging it with the equivalent of a razor blade for hours and hours on end Wink)
