I had these for a week. Couldn't return them fast enough. The adjustment mechanism sucks and the dumbbell always gets stuck in the cradle. Also, the length remains the same no matter how much weight it's set to. For moves like upright rows, this is very awkward.

I do P90X where you go from one move to the next, adjusting weights on the fly, no breaks in between and these absolutely suck for that. If you're the type who does a move then stands around before your next set, then these might work for you.

I ponied up for a set of the REP dumbbells and couldn't be more happier. If you're at all serious about working out, this is one area you don't wanna skimp.

EDIT: My review is of the 52lbs version

Counterpoint: even if they kind of suck it's about the same price as 2 25lb dumbbells plus you get the lower weights.

Any recommendations for budget kettle bell? Never used one but want to improve some shoulder weakness and maybe use for squats

I own the larger weight set and I highly recommend it. This model doesn't make as much sense though.

I like that these have 2.5lb adjustments.

I bought these from Target a while back when they were on sale for $70 each and they are great. The adjustment mechanism and how they go back into the dock are what is important to me IMHO. I like testing things like this in person

Seems like it is going to be a big, clunky, plastic block of very little weight.

The better deal is to get the 52.5lb dumbbells with the stand for $200. The receipt shows that the dumbbells are $68.71 each and the stand is $62.57. Return the stand and one dumbbell (if you only want one) but then it's $10 more for twice the weight

When using lighter weights this model will be more compact and a more pleasant lifting experience. I find the larger ones unpleasant to use for lighter weights.
