I tried chat. They literally said the discounts no longer stack and it's up to their discretion to change the terms whenever they want. Had no excuse why the birthday couple no longer worked. Then immediately logged off saying they had other customers to chat with. It was ridiculous. I presume there have been people taking advantage and buying crazy amounts of stuff. I didn't even think about buying stuff to resell.
Still... it's crazy they changed it two weeks after the fact and admitted they stacked prior.

Yes some people bought 50 xbox series x and 50 playstation 5 consoles, walls of quest 3 vr headsets. Resellers killed it for everyone else.

I dont think ps5 worked? Vr headsets seemed to be patched quickly and might have worked initially.

Target has allowed coupon stacking for years now and it seems like finally this was the straw that broke the camels back...

Ironically, I ended up spending less that I wuld have with the coupon because I was tempted to buy the xbox and an oled tv that i didnt need. Instead i settled for the 55 inch tcl for 200 bucks, not bad.

And I still have my teacher coupon left if something goes on a good sale in the future.

The PS5 didn't work. I tried at the start of the sale.
Also, for Xbox, you were limited you to one console.
It wouldn't even allow me to order more than 3x packs of bottled Coke.
I would have ordered on the first day, but I kept pondering the Xbox since the coupons only work once. I kept second questioning if I really needed it.
Just ticks me off I can't order the other items because even with the 20% off it's not really a deal. It was only somewhat of a deal with all of the coupons combined.
Really can't believe they blocked my birthday coupon. That's just dirty.
The last few times I've chatted with customer service they've been major assholes.
Targets policy used to be that the customer was always right. Now they give no F's.

I had a ps5 slim and playstation vr in cart at the same time like 5 days ago and they were both stacking all discounts. I decided it was probably something I'd use 3 times then it would sit so I stopped myself. I was building my cart. Had 20% teacher 20% student 15% baby registry 15% wedding registry 5% red card all stacked it was like 65% off anything i added to cart. Was holding out in hopes that the legion go would come back in stock and then it all got fixed so I screwed myself. Previous years stacking worked fine. This year all the resellers came out in full force and ruined it for everyone else.

This is completely made up. For some time now, Quest 3 has had a three-item purchase limit, and you can only buy one Xbox per order.

It's not hard to make multiple accounts. I have 4 target accounts all with student, teacher, and military verifications. Heres a photo from discord of one persons haul.

First, that photo could have been pulled from anywhere on the Internet. Second, that's not 100 gaming consoles. Third, even if it could have been done, it's doubtful it was widespread. Fourth, I have a hard time believing that Target and SheerID wouldn't have systems to catch 50 accounts being made even with a VPN and unique email addresses. That's also to factor in that 50 accounts using the same credit card would raise red flags.

Target made an error. Likely when they moved their systems over when they made the big changes to their Target Circle program. No doubt many people got fantastic deals.

Bummed to find out stacking doesn't work anymore. I was excited to use my baby registry coupon which came today, only to find it won't stack. Didn't realize people were stacking teacher on top of student on top of registry! That's crazy

You obviously have no clue how good some of these groups are, believe it or not, it happened. You actually think they would use one credit card?

In the past I noticed some items at Target.com such as sale items are more expensive when signed in.

Saw a comment on here saying they used it on an Apple Watch after speaking with chat. Decided to give it a try with an iPad. They told me they would manually adjust after purchase, and then did not do so.
