I'd like to grab one of these, but have two specific things holding me back, even at this price:
1) It's 12 inches, which a lot of people in the Costco thread have said is too small.
2) The Serious Eats review [seriouseats.com] said that it works, and works well, but is more involved than the other ovens because it requires some cleaning of the box to keep the dust out (they even mentioned having to adjust the oven during use) and opening and closing a door.

That review concluded if you want a pellet oven, this is probably the one to get, but since I don't have anything other pellet grills, I'd probably be better off with the charcoal/wood or gas.

I had toyed with going cheap on an Only Fire, but will probably grab an Ooni at some point.

I've used both, as nice as the wood ones are with the wooden aroma, the gas ones are easier to cook on and slightly more predictable. I've been running a Koda 12 since it first popped up as a deal. I'd go 16" if I were buying new again.

Way too small, most people will be making 10" pies in this thing. You are better off grabbing something bigger, lightly used off Facebook marketplace.

I also have a koda 12 and wish it was a 16". You can always make the pizza smaller if you want, but can't make it bigger than the oven.

This. I bought a Koda 12 about a month ago, then saw the Costco deal recently for the Koda 16 😩

As someone who has a 12" pizza oven and who makes pizzas frequently lemme to you that 12 is way too small if you actually get into it

I wouldn't go smaller than 16" if it were me

I've had this for years now and agree with the consensus here. If I was buying again I would get mixed fuel and slightly bigger.

If you can get a decent deal, I like my Ooni Karu - I can run gas or wood depending on the vibe. Gas attachment runs about $100 and it's a 2 screw install, so not immediately swappable but not too complicated

The karu can also do propane if you get the propane attachment

Own Karu. It's nice and allows multi-fuel. I've found it's easiest still with propane. For the 1-2 mins your pizza is actually in the Ooni, it's not worth the extra effort on the wood.

While the 12 inch is okay, its size limits you to individual or a pizza size to share with 2 ppl. You can't go much bigger. I don't find it to be an issue…as I just cook a couple pizzas. They only take a minute or two, and cooking multiple allows for variety.

With that said….I wish I had the 16 inch. Just more room to cook…even if you don't want a larger pie.

We own this Ooni and it is a pretty decent pizza oven. The pizza are a bit small but are great as personal pizzas. We do, build your own pizza with our kids and their friend as we make the dough and sauce and they add their own toppings, they love it.

Got the Karu, 12 inch and it's not too small. Unless you're trying to feed a ton of people with it you can do 2 pizzas in basically minutes. Less "fuel" needed and heats up quicker. Just my .02

Piezano is the winner of the pizza-at-home wars. Yes it's ugly, but it's $100 and you can cook indoors as well & it's easy to store.
