Buy every size you might need. Joe's is horrible about exchanges (they don't do them) and returns are a flat fee. I quit working with them once NB corporate took them over.

Purchased a pair a few months back on a previous deal. Narrow toe box to the point they are unwearable. First pair of shoes I have ever purchased with this issue.

These are actually made for a wide toe box, but the pair I picked up needed the laces loosened.

These are very similar to the the 860 v13's that I absolutely love, and they fit my normal width foot, but wide toe box.

These do have a very permeable fabric top, though, compared to the 860s. I actually found it comfortable that I could wiggle and stretch my toes upwards because of how stretchy the fabric is

I have flat feet, but don't have plantar fasciitis.

These are very comfy stability shoes, great for walking, though, I'm not a runner.

I bought these the last time they were on sale during the colder months and found them to not stop any kind of weather, so put them away until the summer.

The New Balance 860 fresh foam v13 is the running shoe version of this, and it's the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn.

That being said, different shoes are made for different foot types.
If you have a store that can 3d scan your feet like fleetfeet, I highly recommend it. After my scan they picked out a set of shoes that fit my foot like no other because my foot is firmly a half size, but I have a wide toe box that isn't accounted for in shoe sizes. I'd actually been experiencing pain beneath the ball of my big toe, and the NB has been the only shoe that has allowed my foot to heel. That, and if I'm walking around the house, I wear Oofos sandals, which is like walking on clouds.

My brother also has flat feet, but he has narrow feet, so the same shoe might not fit him as well.

According to their return policy, return shipping is paid strictly by the customer. There's no instruction to obtain a return label directly from them, so it sounds like the customer is expected to pay whatever the postal service charges (not a flat fee). Is that not the case?

I find them to be pretty good and don't need to wear inserts, though ymmv. I find the Vongo and 1080 to be similar regarding fit and comfort, in case you are familiar with those. I paid full retail for Vongos in November and am ready to replace them with another pair or 1080s. This is a great deal.
