Recall is for real, just got an email from Amazon about it. Kind of a pain, govee wants you to cut the power cord and then take a picture clearly showing serial # along with the word "recall" and today's date. Sucks, I really like this heater, I don't care what all of you ohms law nut jobs out there have to say but not all 1500W electric heaters put out the same amount of heat. The smart features are great too, unfortunately turning on the heater when not home was sketchier than I thought.
If you haven't gone through their recall process, you will need to cut the cord, they will give you a recall number, then you have to write recalled and that number in the area where the serial number is. You will also need to upload photos of the cut cord and the recalled number after you write it on the heater. I paid 17 bucks for mine so it was kinda a PITA for that amount of money but 17 bucks is 17 bucks.
