Not to excuse Amazon, but hopefully an outdoor camera wouldn't be bothered by a little rain.
I have been noticing lately on my amazon orders it will ask you "to help reduce waste item will ship in oem box" and you have to manually change to ship in a amazon box.

Few questions:
- I don't think this works with Apple Homekit - right?
- Will this work with Synology NAS SW?
- I believe if yes - this is dual camera - and counts as two streams - right?

Not officially, you can use Scrypted to get that in an unofficial way. Not sure about Synology. Yes 2 separate cameras with its own streams at least based on older Duo cameras.

The Duo 2 does not have discrete streams. I have installed many of them.

I just remember from a different post a while back - Synology considers this as two lenses - two streams. I checked their combability page.

I'm still confused regarding when it's free and not. I understand you get tow streams for free - but on Synology's website it states only one camera license free per NAS.

I have a DS920+ - can anyone comment? I'm not going to go crazy with cameras: Would like to use this camera for the front of home connected to DS920+ and then a doorbell camera connected to my AppleTV via Homekit + iCloud+ for storage. Any thoughts - thanks

EDIT: I think I found my answer here:

https://global.download.synology....et_enu.pdf

For DS920+
Surveillance Station Maximum IP camera: 40 (total of 1,200 FPS at 720p, H.264) (Including two free camera licenses; additional cameras require
the purchasing of additional licenses)

I'm not a network guru - but I'm trying to setup a network server/firewall/VPN computer. I believe some stated there was a program that can run on Promox that can handle a number of different devices - and link to Homekit. I think it's Home Assistant????

Yes Home Assistant can do that, but for cameras specifically Scrypted is the best, Home Assistant can get your cameras to HomeKit as well but I don't think it supports HKSV yet, Scrypted does. People that venture into all of this usually have both. I do and I even have Frigate.

Yup the Duo 1 had two streams, one for each lens. The Duo 2 they are stitched together on the camera and only gives one stream for main and one stream for sub. Its a super wide video which can cause issues for some DVR software, frigate takes some adjusting.

The Duo 3 is the same as the 2 except higher quality so one stream for main and one for sub.

I hope this is the case. I bought this hoping I can connect to my Synology 920+ - if I gain one more license I can maybe add another camera.

Thanks OP, I just ordered this thing 2 days ago, I was able to argue with customer service to apply the promo code to my amazon account and spare me having to return the one I already set up.

Not a ding on Reolink, but I just received the Duo 3 today delivered by Amazon. NO EXTERNAL PACKAGING?!?!?!?! Just the OEM box. It was raining all day today - fortunately it wasn't raining when I received package. WTH Amazon. Your packaging - or lack of packaging - sucks.
