A lot of characters and other things in this game are apparently locked behind paid DLC this time around. It might be better to wait until the "Ultimate" edition goes on sale.

New characters that weren't out when the game launched are paid DLC. So far there has only be one (Eddy). The 2nd new character comes out in a few weeks (Lidia). The only other thing locked would be some avatar skins and gold suits.

Be aware this game did have a Battle Pass and will likely have more in the future.

Ultimate edition won't be out for a Long time. There's going to be A LOT of DLC characters.

Tekken has always done this but in the form of time released characters in the 90s arcades so it's not new.

This game came out in January and only 1 character (Eddy Gordo) has been released with many more to come.

This game is FANTASTIC and you should not wait as the online play is good right now.

There were some much needed buffs early on and the gameplay has been stabilizing but otherwise great fighting game.

My main (Lei) has not been released or even announced yet but I'm having a blast playing and learning the new characters.

Year 1 pass (4 characters), ultimate edition. That means there will be a definitive edition at EOL When you say lots, the ultimate edition gets 4 of that. Get it if one cannot wait. For those who are patient, wait for EOL. This is not the time for it as it's still relatively new.

If I was a businessman and I found out I get more money by doing dlc, bc customers go with that, I would make it the business to slowly release characters. What they should do, like movies, is release a mini documentary so we can understand more clearly how much more investment they put in to make the game. I still prefer a final product, final price methodology. DLC is a version of subscription. I don't have an extreme nature against dlc I simply can't tell these days if they are purposely withholding characters or not. The R&D assist the gfx creation, the graphics are better due to technological advancement of hardware and software development functions or engines. It is a matter of computing power on our console or PC. There is the truth and there is exaggeration of the truth, so while statements are made how much harder it is, I think it's based on some level of truth to it. But if one does the math on dlc, the actions and the pricing scheme are a mismatch. It's predatory.

Great game. I think it has 32 starting characters and they've only added 1 additional as DLC. I played through all of the single player content in about 9.5 hours and really enjoyed it even though I typically hate fighting games. I really liked that they added in a mode where you can easy combos and special moves by pressing a single button via memorizing the inputs for all characters.

I didn't thumbs down anybody. I've been asleep. Also, who exactly did I thumbs down? The only post on this whole deal that has a thumbs down is my post.
