To get the full 15% discount on the S&S you need to have 5 items in your S&S purchase. Otherwise you get the 5% base rate for S&S.
Your $38.23 price is the 5% discount.
Here's what I get with 15%:

Your Coupon Savings:-$10.19
Subscribe & Save:-$7.65
Total before tax:$33.13
Estimated tax to be collected:$0.00
Order total:$33.13
Now since the extra 10% off on the $50.97 is worth a $5.09 discount it would be easy enough for you to find some cheap $1-2 filler S&S items to get you up to 5 items and net some free stuff.
