Nespresso is different from a regular espresso machine because they're specific pods carefully designed by Nespresso to achieve a certain flavor profile (and they're very good). A google search will show that the ideal pressure for brewing a shot of espresso is between 7-11 bar, however this is a very subjective topic and why espresso/coffee is so fun and versatile. Also having a 20bar machine doesn't mean you'll always be brewing at 20 bars of pressure. I just means the pump is capable of producing that amount of pressure. You can adjust with grind size and tamp pressure to play around with extraction to find what you like. There's really no right way to brew espresso, only the way you like it.

Figured I'd go through the reviews at Best buy since there's a lot of speculation on here. So it seems like there were some faulty units out of the box which people could have just returned but left one star reviews anyway. And then there's some other reviews that seem mostly like user error. And then there's an overwhelming majority of excellent reviews for the unit. including one that says you can use many styles of coffee, I can't speak to the truth of that you can buy espresso ground if buying a $200 grinder is a deal breaker for you. another customer compares it to his much more expensive breville machine and says it's just as good. also another customer says that he is drinking coffee daily of all types for basically his entire life and he finds this unit to produce a great quality brew.

personally I don't mind taking a chance for 30 bucks.

they even throw in two months of a cooking streaming service for free lol.

Are you suggesting 20 bars is a lot of pressure or a little pressure?

From Google: Nine bars is considered ideal for high-quality espresso, though you can also get solid extractions from seven or eight bars. If you're thinking of using more bars than that, reconsider! It's all about balance in the world of espresso, meaning too many bars can be just as damaging as not enough.

Insane price for an espresso machine. 30$? How are they making any profit?

They arn't, they're clearing out inventory that's aged too long, or making room for a new model. This is most likely at or below cost, with mfg discount/incentive. Worth trying for $30 imo.

Idk seems like a price mistake to me but it doesn't matter. They sent me a $10 customer appreciation gift card out of the blue today so I used. I haven't bought anything from them for a long time.

I love my moka pot. I have talked myself out of buying one of these many times. Hard to pass at this price.

In for one since my Krups died after fixing the pump 3 times. Hope it holds up well enough for a year or two, at this price as long as it doesn't explode...
