There's a new firmware update available that improves the upscaling by a great deal.

Instructions on how to get the newest firmware are on avsforum.com

999 Beta V2 is the newest Beta, otherwise the newest production update is 299 I think. Either one will improve on the upscaling.

from my reserch the Hisense u8k and the qm8 are very similar tv's.

I ended up with the 85" u8k for $2k from BB. This is a no brainer. These mini led tv's are extremely bright.

Ive had this TV for over a year, needed a unit that got bright. I have Hours of daily usage and am very happy with it. Everyone that has watched 4k content on it loves it too. Fyi Box is huge

Just asking as the head to heads I saw were the u8n

Best Buy has had this TV on sale for 1.5 weeks. In my area (CO), they no longer have it available new in box. Open box only. That's why I set up alerts on SD to see if it would go on sale elsewhere.

I'm cheap so TV shopping is a legit chore for me. I'm set on a 75 so now it's between the the tcl qm8 or qm7 or hisense u8k or u8n

I know there are differences but we're a ytv and Netflix family.

Waiting for these best buy black Friday and prime days to be over with lol

I've had mine since November of last year(paid $1800 back then). I love it. Bright!! Think the upscaling could use some help, but I may try the beta firmware that nsknuds mentioned above.
