The time quoted for speakers is usually at a fairly moderate volume. For instance, someone listening to it as background music in their office would probably get somewhere near that. However, rocking out with loud music drastically changes the play time. Someone expecting to blast if for 6 hours could easily end up disappointed, as the play time may be just a fraction of that at high volume. And the type of music can be a big factor as well … anything with lots of bass will suck up power a lot faster than things with more high notes or vocals. The lights probably don't affect the play time all that much since the LED lights they use these days take very little power relative to the speaker function.

JBL offers dual microphones which is fully compatible with this speaker as there are 2 XLR/1/4" combo jacks that can be used to connect the microphones. I personally used a different pair of microphones and they worked out great. I put a link below if you are going that route. Overall you cannot beat this deal for $129 for the performance. Battery holds about 4-6 hours depending on the volume but if you near an outlet then there are no issues.

Correct. You can add mics, not the same ones the encore comes with but you can get some fairly inexpensive on amazon.

This version doesn't have echo/reverb for the mic, does it? The one that comes with 2 mics does. I don't see the knob here. Any ideas? Thanks
