That's a 16 inch whereas this is a 13 inch device. Why do you think people looking for a 13 inch powerful laptop would consider a 16 inch device and vice versa?

the ram is soldered, at least on the older models, like i have. but you could throw a larger 2230 nvme in like this guy, if you really want to spend the money for internal storage. I think the last time I looked, the only 2tb 2230 nvme I could find was a brand I'd never heard of and close to $400. so I guess all the handheld gaming gear is helping the 2230 form factor gain some traction.

The 16 inch could be upgraded to 64gb of ram though. And had two slots for storage.

It's a good point and a real shame why they would solder the ram. But, generally people looking for a13 inch laptop in this weight and form factor with this kind of spec are unlikely to want a 16 inch that weights almost twice as much, just because of upgradeable ram. There are cost associated with fitting the same stuff in a smaller lighter form factor.

And that still has nothing to do with the fact that people buying this want a really small laptop

Having owned both the x13 (past and current versions) and the x16 - I think they are both great, but the x13 is a pretty special and unique package to have such a compact 2-in-1 gaming laptop. There really isn't anything else out there like it, and unlike older versions it can game pretty well on even some AAA titles (like Cyberpunk or Far Cry 6) surprisingly well with its 60w power limit. The x16 is so much bulkier that even though it's also a unique gaming 2-in-1 it's not nearly as portable or versatile so this is the one I've kept.

Everyone keeps assuming I don't understand this. I prefer my 14in gram over the 16in anyday of the week for the same purposes/reasons. It's more of the price point. I feel the price is questionable especially when you can get the older version for $700 on sale. As someone with a power house desktop, I don't see much difference between the 3060 and the 4060 gpu on a small laptop like this. The moment either get hot performance and lifetime of device are going to suffer significantly and neither are gonna be putting numbers on the board for performance.

Plus my neck cringes in agony at the thought of hunching over to game on a tiny display for long periods of time.

It is not really "soldered" ram that is an outdated concept, as far as I understand all these low power DDR5 ram are parts of the CPU SoC. Benefits are lower latency and ability to work at lower power which is good for battery since they are closer to the CPU. Also while there are people who benefit from more ram I strongly suspect most people complaining here are perfectly fine with 16GB.

Because the 16 inch version is upgradeable while this 13 inch version is not. You get two NVME trays (2280) in the x16 and upgradeable RAM (2 slots that support up to 64 GB). You get a single NVME (2230 instead of 2280) and soldered RAM in the x13. If the x16 is on sale, the choice is very simple as you also get better cooling and battery life in the x16 for basically the same price and weight.
