Timers are inconsistent and you have no control of timers in different rooms. Constantly has issues with turning things on and off... Naming has become a nightmare. Regularly doesn't understand what I'm saying when I request it makes a note in keep. Playing music via voice has been inconsistent.. Regularly plays the wrong thing. The issues are common and all over the internet. Google doesn't care. They have been ignoring the product for years. Some say it is due to the new models with AI they are going to be coming out with... Some say its due to them not making any money for the company... I don't really care the reason... All I know is they can do 1/3 of what they could do 5 years ago. We mostly use alexa devices and reserve these and my other google devices as glorified bluetooth speakers.

Same price I paid 4 years ago. You'd think that 4 years later they would be heavily discounted, considering how bad the actual devices are.

I've had one of these for years and it consistently drops the bluetooth connection with our phones (various iphones). It's almost a paper weight at this point since I bought it primarily as a bluetooth speaker.

The google minis have been reliable as well as the OG Lenovo smart display. Our Nest wifi has been rock solid as well. But this speaker has been the biggest disappointment of our home google/nest ecosystem.

I bought two of these assuming Google was going to follow through with their plans to make these audio out from an android tv, exactly like Apple currently has it with their Apple TV + HomePods.

It's been *years* since they announced they were working on this feature without so much as a peep. I've given up on anything Google, outside of Android.

Plus, 4 years ago, I got two of these for $75, from Kohl's no less. Not sure why the price has stagnated.

You should always expect Google to randomly any product/service they have. I'm waiting on the discontinue of GMail, without notice, any day now.

Everyone wants higher wages, cost of breathing has gone up and corporations/grocery stores are price gouging. Let's not lose our democracy at least

Or Google wants to stop losing money on these so they stop discounting.

randomly attempts to interject politics into a discussion about a discussion about a deal.

you do realize that these are made overseas where wage expectations in the US has little to nothing to do with anything?

by your logic, my 3 year old phone should also be the same price, yet i can now buy it for about 1/4 of what i did... my 5 year old laptop should also cost the same amount?

this is tech. ancient tech. made by robots and foreign fingers. if anything it has gotten way cheaper to make.

its this much money because google has a monopoly on the devices that work with their ecosystem. if you think it is a deal, by all means, buy them right up, and enjoy the mediocrity.

I empathize with you but Google never made such promise because they got sued (and consequently lost) for infringing on Sonos wireless audio patents leading up to launch of Nest Audio. There was marketing material that leaked online stating that feature would be an update later and was likely a compelling selling point to compete with Amazon Fire and Echo theater pair feature. My naive self figured the two would figure it out but it was my lesson learned the hard way to never purchase a product based on future features. Google's hardware team is not to be trusted

Pretty sure they appealed and won and Sonos features are slowly coming back. I use the beta releases and speaker group volume has returned .

Have the same issues. The audio quality and ability to play Sirius and most FM radio keep me hooked. Used to love google but this among other things has eroded my faith.

Yeah they did win but don't hold your breath on future updates. They'll make up some bull about it being a Nest Audio 2 feature. Don't you love consumer tech
