I did try to be helpful by backing up my question with the fact that Woot sells great refurbished Ring products. I know this first hand, and mentioned it because that information might be helpful to others when making their decision to buy a refurbished product from Woot. This is a discussion thread. If you don't want discuss the deal and want to lecture instead, consider going somewhere else to do that in the future.

Exactly, better to buy through Dyson on ebay since it comes with 2 year warranty on refurbished items.

Note that the v10 animal ($240) isn't with a removable battery, whereas the outsize plus is. I got the v11 animal+ for $260 a couple of months ago with the removable battery. I value the removable battery versions so that when the battery degrades i have more aftermarket options including using my Milwaukee batteries with an adapter.

It looks like the Dyson Ball Animal 2 Origin Upright Vacuum | Blue | Refurbished is $169.99 ($10 cheaper than Woot) at Walmart. Might be easier to return if necessary too:

I saw the slim at the store yesterday, it's tiny. My whole house is tile/hardwood, I ordered the v15. I've had a fully loaded V10 refurb for many years and it's still running strong. Letting the ex keep it.

Count me in as someone who has gotten an absolutely trashed bladeless fan refurb from Walmart.com. It technically worked, but was oily, dirty, and had scratches and paint scuffs, and the warning sticker "flag" they wrap around the power cable left sticker goo all around where the label had slide up and down the power cable, with carpet fuzz and the previous owner's hair stuck to it. It was also missing one of the rubber feet. I contacted Dyson with pictures, and and they said it was within refurb guidelines wouldn't do anything for me, so I returned it.

This was a Dyson refurbished item, sold by Dyson and not just a "refurbished" item? If so, that is insane. That puts there level of quality control up there with Warehouse Deals (which is now Amazon Resale).

Some of theses companies need to go back to business school to learn the basics.

A nice benefit with walmart is you can typically get a very cheap 2-4 year extended warranty that provides repair or full paid replacement if something happens to it.

My Samsung Jet 75 broke down after 2 years. Not looking for anything fancy, will the v8 be equivalent to the JET 75. If anyone owned both please let me know. V8 refurbished 180 at eBay, seems like an ok deal to me
