I think it is the way it is insulated. So my brother and I go camping together once a year. I bring and igloo cooler, and he brings his yeti cooler. His yeti cooler will hold ice for the entirety of the camping trip (3 days). My igloo will need ice by the next morning (so ~1 day).

With that price tho, i still would not buy a yeti. I'd rather just buy more ice lol

I have a yeti (a few actually, don't get me started...) as well as 2 of these Lifetime brand coolers:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Lifeti...om=/search

This can be had for under a hundred fairly often (but this price is good too), is bigger than the yeti in this deal, and performs nearly the same in real world situations.

what is the cost of your time and energy and the ice, over the life of the cooler ownership? When I'm camping, I'd gladly pay $50 to avoid an ice run each time.

What is so special about this cooler? Just want to understand why it is so much more expensive than regular coolers.

Built quality is one of the best. Keeps ice longer than most competitors. At this price, it's lower than its inferior competitions.

Why is this better then 40 dollar Coleman?
Have $40 Coleman. Would not recommend

Those $2 plastic latches on the Coleman break when looking at them wrong

Went with an electric cooler that have become popular. Not buying ice is amazing.

My friend has a yeti, he has coolers in the backyard and it still is cold on the inside with drinks for 3 days, it's worth it so you don't always have to do a ice run.

I bought a knock-off from Walmart that was comparable in price to a Coleman, thanks to SD, and it's really good. I'd agree that Yeti isn't worth the cost, but the mimics, which can be substantially less, are worth looking into and will likely outperform your Igloo.
