I have an old version of this PC. Proprietary psu, only 2 ram slots. Mildly upgradeable.

Not really this is already pretty much maxed out. Still pretty good spec's for this price.
About all you could add is more storage

I would be cautious with Intel 14000 right now. Apparently, people are running into issues with this chip. They talk about it here:

https://youtu.be/oAE4NWoyMZk?si=CtmZvrjMRtEKrYT2

In the video, they are talking about the 14900K and 13900K so I am not sure if it affects the 14700F that this system has. But just wanted to share. Does not mean you would have any problems, but in case you do, at least Costco is not too tough to deal with, when it comes to returns or repairs. At least, not from my experience.

This has DDR4 ram not DDR5 and if your spending $1K id say go for DDR5. but overall its fair deal. you can build a similar PC costing about $900, but with the cheapest parts.

On Costcos site scroll down to "Manuals & Guides" and click "Manufacturer's Warranty Information" it will bring you to HP site... Scroll to "Product specifications" and click "View full specifications"

though not sure how the "Maximum Memory" is "Supports up to 32 GB max system memory"

I would recommend this one instead:

Fully upgradeable and you get a slightly better GPU and looks much better as well if that's your thing.

Only k and ks series chips are impacted. 14700f should be solid.

For those affected CPU, stability is an issue only when you push the limit. I usually don't do that, so I can still buy if I need one.

Toastybros just did a review on something similar to this but with an amd cpu. Barely handled 1080p medium using this GPU. A reseller on ebay selling these for around 400 bucks or less....

HP still using ddr4 on these mobos.
Four USB 2.0 ports in the back.
Two Type A 10 Gbps up front.
Two Type A 5 Gbps up front
One USB-C 5 Gbps up front.

Dell using HDMI 1.4 ports on their new SKUs.

Sad state of affairs.

4060 is horribly underpowered to be paired with a 14700. You'd want to upgrade that eventually, but you can't because of the proprietary PSU. Pass.

4060 is weak. if you don't care for GPU power just find something cheap with a 3060ti
