Just picked this up and I love it for the price. Very nice build quality and fast. Gotta say touch screen is a game changer for me as it eliminates the need for a mouse. Wife just got the lenovo slim 7 deal for a couple hundy more - I feel this is about same build quality, but touch/tablet ability makes it better. Hers is maybe a millimeter thinner. Doing all the setup & downloads has batt down to 63% from 89% after ~ 2 hours. Been waiting months for a thinkpad deal, but not regretting this at all. Probably should have got my daughter this vs the m3 mac air deal...

There have been some posts saying that there are some possible hinge issues, but they seem to be rare. For everything that is offered with this laptop, it is a pretty good deal for $500.

I bought this (an open box excellent that was absolutely pristine) when it was on sale for the same prices at the end of June and I couldn't be much happier with it. Light weight, but with a very solid build, excellent battery life, very fast and responsive. If you need an outstanding display, this isn't the unit for you (but it's bright enough to see outdoors), but you're not going to get a top notch display along with everything else this has at a price like this.

Could the laptop gurus compare to this ASUS for the same price?
Larger screen and Ryzen 7, backlit keyboard, charge via USBC in the questions, Metal chassis per the questions.

It does sort face recognition. Our pastor bought this 2 weeks ago at this same price. Just wish it had 1tb ssd. Otherwise, it runs great.

Only unfortunate thing is HP Doesn't provide a way (that we could find) to limit the battery charge to 80% when plugged in for an extended time.

The one in your link is bigger, heavier, and doesn't have a touchscreen or 2-in-1 capabilities. If you value the bigger screen and better processor and storage more than added portability, it might be the right call for you - really comes down to what you're looking for/need. I think the one in this thread is a better value, if you need what it provides.

That's really a different class of laptop. If you want a bigger, much heavier laptop, then there are plenty of different options than this.
