Is this system good? I am between this one or just 2 S340 Solo Cams.

Been using it for 1 year and faced only minor issues. It sometimes stops detection after a software update to the homebase. I just restart homebase when that happens. It functions normally after that

I remember several "old" eufy products with misleading advertising. Like cam was presented as 2k device while 2K mode was used only for notifications, recording and playback was 1k only. What about this 4k set? What exactly 4k is here?

From my experience, it's better to have system which records 24/7 for at least 7-11 days. But this is an ideal system.

Yeah, I like that it comes with everything I'm supposed to need. It's a good start since I have nothing.

Previously got the deal. No regrets. People love to hate Eufy. Lots of good reviews on their ecosystem.

As someone who has had many eufy cameras, I would HIGHLY suggest to go for their e330 cameras which record 24/7 instead if you can. I ended up powering them via lightbulb nearby by using a lightbulb outlet. Would be even better if you can get a poe system.

I havent gotten any failures with the e330 system (they are also cheaper than the solar ones), and I would also recommend getting an SSD for the homebase, it improves the speed at which you can retrieve videos drastically.

Ultimately, their motion detection is good but it's not reliable overall, occasionally it will miss something and it's possible it was the one thing you were looking for. Which is the gap the 24/7 recording fills in.

If you go with continuous recording vs motion, does it still flag motion? Scrubbing through several hours of video is a non-starter

Yes, it does. The playback mechanism is very nice, can go date by date and it highlights in timeline wherever the motion is. Also allows you to speed up video speed and download whichever part you want.

Their customer service is not existent. I purchased the same set of cameras.

I'm having issues with one of the cameras not charging from the solar panel only after two months of installation. Tried reaching out to Anker/eufy with no luck.

In addition, in 5%-10% they often don't recognize/record motion.

Otherwise, their features and app are decent.

This price is good. I pieced together this same setup here and there over time from Amazon. The Home base 3 was great, way better than the old Home base 2 (16gb didn't hold much.) I put a 2 TB SSD drive in it with an 8 TB external drive. I really liked the 4k picture and zoom capabilities with the s330 cams. I loved that they could charge automatically too. The detection and distance to which the s330's triggered, wasn't as good (IMO) as the Eufy Cam 2 pros, at least for me. But what I was really disappointed, is how the sun simply obliterated the top layer on these s330 cams, far too quickly. The solar layers all peeled in part on 3/4 and almost fully on 1/4 cams. To me it seemed like they really went cheap on that part. I mean we're talking less than 18 months. Yes they still worked, but for how much longer? I don't intend to find out. I also had two EufyCam Solar Panel External Chargers (they are much better built to last far longer), that I used to charge two EufyCam 4g/2k cams...which if you need to expand to an area that WiFi doesn't reach, they work really well...just not in 4k. It's just with those 4g cams you need to buy small sim cards, 24gb/1-year eiotclub sim cards. Anyway, with WiFi jammers being used to block these wifi cams (Pasadena/Glendale)...I am not messing around with not also implementing an additional layer of security using a POE Ethernet connected system from Swann. It's extremely inexpensive to build an effective wifi jammer. Just saying.
