anyone activate the service on the iphone then pull out the sim and use it on a different device for the 30 days while waiting on the unlock? does the sim needs to be on the iphone for the full 30 days?

All the reconditioned iphones from straight talk/total/tracfone come with new (aftermarket) batteries.

No, that's not true. Some of those phones have had little use and would not have had their batteries replaced. For reference, I have an SE 3 that I purchased brand new last November and have been using daily for over six months and it still shows 100% battery health. They may replace batteries when needed, but there would be no reason to replace ones that are perfectly healthy. Phones that were put into service for less than a year may very well show 100% health with the original battery.

Mine was delivered today and activated flawlessly. The battery shows 100% capacity and AppleCare is available through 11/21/24. Carrier Lock shows no SIM restrictions on day 1!

Just placed the order today. How long did it take for folks to receive theirs after they placed the order?

Obviously it can vary, but it usually took just short of a week from order to delivery for my past orders. But you occasionally see orders that get out in just a few days or ones that drag on for over a week … they're not always the most consistent. Smilie

In regards to the 100% battery health of non-new devices, I looked into this a while back. It seems that with Apple products the actual battery capacity is often higher than the design capacity. This is to account for manufacturing variability - Apple wants to ensure that the batteries will always meet the design capacity when new. In addition, the capacity of lithium batteries will actually increase a little during the first few months before it starts decreasing. Since the battery health % is based on the design capacity, this would explain why the battery health could still show as 100% for an extended period of time during the first year of use (the battery health will be displayed as 100% when the actual capacity is greater than the design capacity).

Yep, we're right on the same page again. I was looking at my battery capacity versus specs in a previous post as well …

https://slickdeals.net/f/17625351-straight-talk-64gb-apple-iphone-se-3-reconditioned-30-days-prepaid-service-from-110-free-shipping?v=1&p=172347768&src=SiteSearch#post172347768

The original capacity on my daily phone was 2097 mAh even though the spec'd capacity is 2018 mAh. And I have two other SE3's that also had similar original capacity … one started at 2092 mAh and the other at 2098 mAh. And another user a few pages ago said his was at 2085 original capacity.
