FYI, I ended up researching the best clips and mounts for attaching to your jacket, backpack, etc. while skiing, hiking, boating etc. and I settled on the Ulanzi quick release mounts which are great.
Peak Design is the major American brand that also makes good interchangeable quick release mounts, but Ulanzi is cheaper and now with the new belt/backpack quick release clip they actually have a better version than Peak Design.
Ulanzi's F22 mounts (22mm) are for smaller stuff like DJI/GoPro cams and the F38 mounts are generally for bigger/heavier stuff like Canon mirrorless cameras.
You attach the connector plate to the camera device, and you attach the quick release brackets to all your accessories like tripods, backpack strap, helmet, selfie stick, etc. and then you can just pop the camera on and off easily without having to screw anything in or change the clamps/clips from one thing to another.
It's been really useful for me and it took a bunch of digging around to figure out whether I should buy the top of the line (expensive) Peak Design stuff, or go with the cheap Amazon knockoffs, and I was happy to find that Ulanzi is the happy medium that does everything needed and cheaper than Peak Design.
One thing I did buy from Peak Design is their Pixel 8 Pro phone case with a special built-in magsafe locking mechanism that is extra secure, and I liked it better than just using a standard phone grip thing that you see all over the place.
I just use the Peak Design phone case and the Peak Design "creator kit" that has a special mount to lock into the phone case. It came with a proprietary Peak Design locking plate, but since I use all Ulanzi, I just unscrewed the GoPro-style phone mount from the plate, and screwed it into a Ulanzi plate that can snap into all the other gear I have.
Super useful to be able to have your phone, DJI action camera, and professional Canon camera all be able to use the same gear like tripods, chest clips, selfie sticks / extenders, etc.
Hope this info is useful to someone else! There's so much stuff out there and so many competing systems, but Ulanzi works best for me.
They also have a multi-use f22 / f38 mounting plate by the way and that's what I use for the phone and DJI cam. Then they can lock into some of the smaller/cheaper f22 mounts that I have on certain equipment that I tend to only use with those 2 cams, but they can also can snap into the bigger/sturdier f38 mounts that I keep permanently on other gear that I mostly use with my bigger Canon camera.
