I have had a back yard for decades and have not yet felt the need to fog it in any way. What are my yard and myself missing out on?

Don't be fooled by the "electrostatic" nonsense. These are just fine-mist sprayers/foggers.

You can't do electrostatic spraying without a proper ground which this does not have. Like many covid-related things, these were all the rage for a hot second but turned out not to perform as promised.

For 15 bucks ... sure why not. I might get a couple for parts for other projects.

Reviews say the half gallon sprayer needs to be held level.. is it the same for the backpack sprayer? Use case is application of Shockwave on exposed wood in crawlspace to kill mold. Also reviews talk about macguyver priming/pressurizing the tank. Is that for both sprayers or is the backpack one better?

It works well enough with a modification of the material filter. Otherwise it has a very very weak/non existent flow depending on the fluid being run through it, or has to be shaken regularly. This is close to the mod I did:

I've always bought Ryobi tools from Home Depot - any issues I take it back there any they replace or in rare occasion service. How does 3 yr warranty work when purchased through Woot - I assume we have to send or bring to a local authorized service center (which does not usually include HD)?
I bought Ryobi 18V 1/2 Gallon ES Sprayer Bare (Tool Only) a few weeks ago from woot for a couple of bucks more. Call them to return to get the 1 gallon version. They refunded me and asked not to send back the sprayer. My first return to woot!

These were big during COVID- they're good for disinfectants and deodorizers. Think of it as a battery powered spray can.

The fogger is a MUST HAVE if you have a back yard. That thing works great!
"MUST HAVE" for backyards 🤣🤣🤣 i'm on my third home with a nice yard and never needed to do whatever it is you're doing...

i guess it's just whatever corner of the world you're in

I have gotten 2 of these as free gifts for buying other tools. They have been giving them away, and I figured I'd give them a try. They have both broken after the first use.

This is a no-brainer at these prices. The "Tool Only" ones are not a big issue to me since can share the battery with my other Ryobi items; which I love.
These foggers suck though. Skip all of them

If you're in an area without mosquitos, the rest of us envy you.

Yep. We had several of the ryobi electrostatic sprayers at the jail I work at to kill covid during the pandemic. We had to spray everything down three times per shift. Anything inmates and staff would touch. After the spray started causing problems with the phones, visiting machines, and speakers, They started exempting all kinds of things not to spray. It magically became less important to stop covid in certain devices and surfices. All the sprayers now sit there and haven't been touched in years.
