I also have the same question. My guess would be that it supports both Intel XMP and AMD Expo.

It's that plus the pro has a low profile aluminum heat spreader that isn't on their regular RAM.

What's cheaper Ram like this without this heat spreader? There is enough cooling in the case.

Their non pro RAM is missing rhe XMP and Expo support, as well as missing the heat spreader. The heat spreader isn't that useful, but the XMP/Expo support is.
