That said, I have a Samsung T5 1TB SSD that I had laying around and have been using in my Model Y for several weeks now without issue.
I think you'll be fine with this T7.
Just follow the instructions in the manual on how to partition, format, and prep the drive for use in the car (super simple): https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanua...D
Basically format the drive as exFAT (keep it single partition for simplicity) and then create a TeslaCam folder at the root of the drive. Plug it in the USB port in the glove box and that should be it.
