The LG C4 OLED is slightly better than the LG C3 OLED. The C4 gets brighter in HDR, so highlights pop a little bit more on it. The C4 also has slightly better PQ EOTF tracking, so it's a bit more accurate when it comes to the content creator's intent, and its better color volume delivers slightly brighter colors. If you're a PC gamer looking to take full advantage of your high-end graphics card, the C4 supports up to 144Hz versus 120Hz on the C3, so it's the better option for that. However, when viewed from an angle, the C4 has a noticeable green tint, so the C3 is the better choice for wide seating arrangements.
Definitely not, C3 is more than capable and just as good. You will only notice the higher nits in a very bright environment. That being said, I'm still waiting for the C3 to drop under 1000, with the C4 out, it should come down a bit more in my opinion. I've been tracking the price on it for months.

I was SO close to getting a BB open box c3 55 for $800. They called me and said "it's actually busted". I'm also waiting for sub 1k to pull the trigger and replace my CX. Otherwise, not worth it.

I'd definitely avoid BB used, it's a HUGE lottery. Especially with OLEDs and electronics in general. I have considered the ~$800 deal for the Microcenter 55" C3 refurb (I believe these come straight from LG) but even that I'm a bit uneasy about. I'd really like to see brand new at this price but I don't know if it'll ever get that low (the exception is the lucky local clearance at Walmart/Target that may be fireselling these to make more room for the C4s but don't hold your breath).

I live near a microcenter. And my last TV from them a refurbished LG 3D (back when they were popular) is still ticking away and won't die. I'm tempted on their current deal.

Give a holler if you find one under $1000. Been looking for a 55" C3 as well, just don't know a good price point!

I still have a LG 3D TV from them as well Time to upgrade that one some day too. Only reason I'm hesitant over refurb on OLED is it's a huge lottery and I usually lose big time. Anyway the last one in my area just sold out so that decision has been made for me. Will keep waiting on a new one.

I still have a C6. The last LG oled with 3D. Still running strong to this day and people are amazed when I tell them how old it is.
I sold one of the first top of the line 4K 3D by LG, had a small soundbar attached to it, to a friend a couple years ago. That thing is older than the C6 I own and it's still running strong.

I have CX and C3. The picture quality on the CX is still good but nowhere as bright as the C3. The only issue with the CX I have is the menus are a bit slow in responsiveness whereas the C3 is very responsive.
