Usually the knock is that 365 subs through Amazon lock you into "management" by Amazon. So you can't go out and buy one from Newegg and stack it.

I bought one. Already had a Microsoft 365 Family subscription in my Amazon account from last year that has not expired yet (and it would auto renew). Instead of stacking the new one shows up separately and says activate subscription. I redeemed the key in my Microsoft account. Waiting to see if Amazon merges the two together.

EDIT: It stacked on an existing subscription that was already managed by Amazon, expiration was extended another 12 months. Took 10-15 minutes to be updated after activating.

They'll probably have it provided by the college included with their fees. If not, the educational version of this service would likely be cheaper. Regardless, it's worth checking with the IT department(s) at your kids' school(s).

Did you activate the new one and then it stacked on top of the existing one (managed by Amazon)?

Twin kids heading to college this year. Can I buy 4 of these now and stack them all at once for securing this price for next 4 years? Appreciate any help. This dad is a novice when it comes to these type of things.

This is a family plan so you get 6 accounts - yours and 5 family members. 4 subscriptions may be excessive.

Yes. It activated and there was still two showing at Amazon with the new one staying activate. Then 10-15 minutes later they were combined two one and expiration pushed out another 12 months.
