I was hoping this would go on sale for Prime Day and it did.

Best Buy obviously matched the Prime Day price, then dropped the cost for their open box excellent. And I had a promotional credit to use before August. Got the Sub Mini for $300, picking it up after work.

I got this last time it was on sale. I'm using it in a 12x12 room. It's good for this size room, but I wouldn't use it in a much larger room.

Great for apartment with Beam. Versatile enough to be barely there or more powerful depending on the hour of the day.

Does this pair well with the Arc or should I get the bigger sub?

You should get the surrounding first, then get the sub on next sale 😄 that's the way to enjoy it at 100%

I use it with an Arc in my 12x17 room. It works very well.

If you have a very large room (like a 20x20) I'd do the full size one.

Excellent deal, I love my Sub Mini.

Adding a sub to my setup increased the audio experience way more than I thought it would. The Mini pushes more than enough bass if you have a smaller room or share walls and don't want your neighbors to hate you. Also worth noting that the Mini is matte and matches other Sonos products better than the weirdly glossy full size sub.

That being said if you have a larger room or own your own home, the full sub may be the better choice.

Both size and placement matter. I got the Sub Mini for my garage, but I tested it out in my 17'x23' living room first, to see how it compared to the full-sized Sub I was already running in there. It was inadequate. Better than no sub at all, but definitely not pushing enough air for that space. But when I put it in my garage, which is larger than my living room, I was surprised to discover it thumps! The reason is I was able to place it in a corner, maximizing room gain and enhancing the boom. This isn't feasible in the living room because of decor layout, and not wanting to place a subwoofer next to a shared town home wall. But the extra power of the full-sized Sub is more than capable of compensating for the less than ideal placement.

TL/DR: Yes, it's better for smaller rooms. But every room is different, and placement has big impact. So if you're on the fence, the only way to know for sure is to try it out in your space and see. (Or, hear as it were.)
