I just bought the open run pro and upgraded my 3 year old aeropex. I got the 100 dollar best buy deal yesterday. Not sure how these compare to the not pro but the open run pro compare very well to the aeropex. Better bass, they fit tighter against the skin so there's less audio bleed and you hear it better. Big fan!

Does anyone know if there's a difference between these and the normal Shokz Open Runs?

I have the same question and would like to know more because I am considering the Best Buy OpenRuns. From what I found, "The main difference between OpenRun SE and OpenRun headphones lies in their external design. OpenRun SE, the platform-exclusive version, features a unified charcoal-black body with metallic-colored buttons, showcasing a sleek and premium appearance."

Is the SE just a warehouse exclusive model that only has cosmetic differences to prevent retailers from having to price match? I know sometimes you'll find a "-B" at the end of a model number and it's basically to block matching.

SE has model # S803-ST-CG-US (from costco site). The NON SE version has model # S803-ST-BK-US (from bestbuy site for NON SE version). So seems the same.

Would these be good for trains and buses? The current in ear ones I have, even with noise cancellation on, don't do much unless I max out the volume which is bad for my hearing.

It's not on the box, but the costco site lists 8th generation, 10 min quick charge for 1.5 hours of usage, and bluetooth 5.1. So, aligning with the non pro standard ones.

Not really? These are designed to allow you to hear things, vs NOT hear things. In general they sacrifice audio quality for comfort and to prevent obstructing the ears. I wouldn't use anything else for athletic activity and I have their OpenComm for work because I can wear it all day comfortably.

They do ship them with earplugs (or have with past models) — that's their solution for "noise cancellation". I find it hard to imagine it's better than active noise cancellation (I'm a big fan of air pod pros for this) but you could give it a try.

I actually tried the included foam ear plugs while on a plane and it actually made my aeropex perform worse. Having my ear canal plugged up just makes hearing anything worse and not better it seems.

Shokz also sells an OpenSwim [shokz.com] version for just that, and it has 32GB of internal storage for MP3 playback.

Bluetooth for the most part doesn't work underwater so you wouldn't want them anyways for swimming.
