Before I forget, the logic of DLBC "may come in the future" for the RZ50 makes no sense if you stand behind the "pay to play" reasoning. What would change in future RZ50s that would make this possible? Certainly not an increase in MSRP!
Yes "hardware" determines results between brands especially on your AVRs "bass management" hardware capabilities.
Dirac only loves Denon/Marantz because they paid to be able to offer DL & DLBC, we pay(at least partially) for that option.
Lol why are you surprised DLBC didn't come sooner!?
How many times have people claimed DLBC has no benefit in RZ50 post!
Even you who has the option doesn't believe there is value in getting it!
For me I'm with Dirac and their "verbiage" on the benefits of DLBC.
Consider this:
The very same Dirac Live can be found on a $500+ 9 channel AVR.
If you want DLBC, you have to jump up hundreds to get it AND purchase it on top of that.
Dirac's "verbiage" of DLBC and pricing sure seems Dirac highly values it, from personal experience I agree.
Imo it's the thee biggest reason to get Dirac.
We will just have to agree to disagree on that also.
It's probably because you're making the assumption it's a "hardware" issue.
On your belief, for it to come in the future, Onkyo would have to come out with a RZ50(a) just to add DLBC!
Why, when everyone already says they have no need for it now?🤔
Makes much more sense for them to "pay" for the option, then offer it. At the very least a firmware to add it like they do with so many other features.

Your defense of Dirac is admirable. What commission rate do they have you at?
What this adds that really interests me is Auro3D. It might not matter to others but its something I really wanted to try, less for native content as there is so little, more for the upmixer and hear how it handles things differently over NeuralX and such.
Id be willing to upgrade just for that if I could take advantage of the other upgrades too (power, extra sub) but I already run 4 subs and do all my bass management on a MiniDSP and I run external power for all my channels.
I have been waiting for something like the HTP-1 to finally have HDMI 2.1 and upgrade to that but it has not happened, so this is still a better option for me.
If only my computer office was big enough to fit an Atmos setup in I would move the RZ50 to my computer office and put the RZ70 in the movie theater room.
After using iDRAC I do not think I'll ever buy another AVR or Pre/Pro that does not have it. It's that good. But I still prefer to manually handle my subs with REW and a UMIC1 and the good thing is I can just plug that right into any new AVR without having to re-do the subs as that is a very time consuming process to get it as good as I have it.

You've said the same statements over and over and not me but Dirac proves them faults.
You make all these claims about DLBC but then claim hey one sub it's not beneficial!
FYI Dirac offers DLBC for ONE sub option which you can get(unlike RZ50)!
Please explain how this information is shoving anything down anyone's including your throats!? 🤔
If you want to believe what Dirac says their DLBC offers has no benefit, that is completely your prerogative and I have not made any arguments to that opinion.

By adding DLBC replaces the very time consuming and need for miniDSP and REW.
The results are at the very least equal, most definitely A LOT less time consuming!
Not to mention the 3800 already supports 4 independent sub outs, this only offers 2.
Audyssey added directional sub integration that works under the same theory as DLBC and does a really good job also.

Price on site is $1999, however if you call in and ask for Scott Weverstad and mention Slick Deals they will add a $100 discount, bringing the total down to $1899. Even better, if the market price goes up in the future, they will still honor a $100 off the new market price against other vendors.
