Been eyeing this one or the Coway Airmega 400. With the Blueair being $135 less than the Coway it seems like the better deal. Amazon has it for the same price minus the free extra cloth outer piece.

I would get this over the Coway. I purchased the Coway for my parents, though, because it doesn't have a cloth prefilter (pets).

My Blueair units have a very pleasing sound to the fans, that is one major reason I like their products. No jet engine noise.

Dang it.. I got mine for around $300 a year ago and love it. I love the auto feature that turns it on and adjusts speed based off of the particle size you set on the app. Thinking about buying another 🤔

Also $200 on Amazon

Thanks, I went with Amazon so I could do 6 months equal pay - don't really care about the pre-filter.

After having black mold in an old apartment and developing a bad allergy, doctor strongly recommended an air filter moving forward, and BlueAir were the least expensive of the (very expensive) brands they rec'd. Not this model, but it's been running every night in the bedroom since 2020 with no issues (as long as you change filters when needed), and have always wanted one for the living room. These look a lot nicer than the industrial-looking ones. If you're near wildfires, in a city with poor air quality, or just noticing a lot of dust piling up everywhere, it's a must - you will see it every time you change the filter.

Just bought this after a ton of research on air purifier energy efficiency. At 9.5 CADR per watt and 256kwh estimated annual energy use this is one of the most efficient large air purifiers on the market.

It is twice as energy efficient (uses half as much electricity for the same amount of air cleaning) as the Coway Airmega 400 which is $339 right now. Pretty much a no brainer at this price and will save you money on your electric bill.

Edit: OP you should add Blueair to the post title because it didn't show up on my deal alert or search for Blueair

This is good to know. If you have it on auto settings and it only comes on as needed, I don't think it will make a difference for most people, however.

Just placed an order for a couple of these yesterday on Amazon. Was considering canceling that order and going straight to BlueAir but their site SUCKS. Wouldn't mind the free pre-filters, but frankly, it was so clunky that, at least for me, it's not worth the hassle.

I have the older square blue air 'equivalent' to this. I like that this one HAS to be lighter. But I do like the older versions where the filters can fold up so you can store easier. They work noticeably well but it is big. I have in front of my window AC.

if you buy from bestbuy, you save $20 (I bought 2 best buy gift card with my and my wife's account), plus additional $9 with amazon visa 5% back. That's $29 saving, should cover a free prefilter. Plus I can get my filter tomorrow instead of 3-5 days.

I'm not sure how great these things are. I bought this exact model from their website months back. It sounded like it worked great, but I have a house of 2 Huskies, 2 Pomskies, a Pyrenees Lab Mix and a Shih Tzu named Pizza - the Blueair tried telling me that the air was perfect in a 600ft living area. And for objectivity, I do smoke flower a few times in the evening as well. It still would say that the air is perfect, something didn't feel right about spending that money (think I got it through a Consumer Reports deal for $240) and it not feeling like it accomplished much.

Blueair is great until you need support. It took them a week to respond to my support ticket and they want to go back and forth with basic troubleshooting responding once every few days. Horrendous experience. My $300 211 unit stated squealing like a mouse after 11 months running on low. Support was so bad (probably on purpose) that I decided to buy a new unit.

My recommendation is get some cheap Winix units from Costco for $99. The filters are dirt cheap and when the unit inevitably starts squeaking you take it back to Costco.

I had the same experience with this model and my two dogs. The only time the sensor ever recognized anything was when I blew out a candle right in front of the intake and after a shower when the humidity was high. I ended up returning mine.
