For those who might have had this in the past, the $250 credit is no longer a statement credit but a voucher to use in the Capital One portal. The portal is run by Hopper and is absolutely terrible for searching. If you search for 3 people in 1 room and you will get rooms with one bed and an occupancy limit of 2 people. There is also no way to have it sort to include additional fees and taxes - you just get the base rate until you select your room and then they add all the other charges. Even if you're using points, you get charged additional points at reservation to cover the tax. There can be a limited selection of hotels in some areas, with many common brands missing (compared to Booking or Agoda, or even the major flag portals like Bonvoy or Hilton). The prices are nearly always higher in the Hopper/CapOne portal than one of the major 3rd party (Booking/Priceline/Travelocity/Agoda/Expedia/Kayak meta) site for both hotels and cars, and ofter more expensive than booking direct. IMHO, if you're going to roll the dice booking 3rd party, you should be getting a better rate. If you use points for other than travel (statement credit) you get 1/2c per point, so it really is a travel-centric reward system. /end rant

Other than that it's a decent card and the Eno one-time/one-vendor card numbers are very helpful.
I have had this card for a year and there has not been a single deal or opportunity for the points.
Same. 800+ credit score and got rejected twice.

I received the Venture X card. $395 per year. I had it for less than one month. Wow. I received the 75,000 miles and $300 travel credit. Global entry credit. The Capital One Travel matched the price and refunded the difference to my travel credit which I purchased another ticket. 5x the ticket value or 5% back. Not bad. Travel insurance, disruption, delay, loss of baggage. This is pretty standard. So far, happy with the card. unlimited lounge access.

No. Only if you have Venture. I checked this with Capital One.

I'm not very savvy on these credit card deals.

I currently have the Chase Sapphire Preferred and we use the points for flights to visit our son in Texas.

Since I mainly will use this for flights, should i wait for a deal on a different card, like the Venture X?

What do you suggest using the travel credit on then, if not hotels? Sounds like flights is the best option, or perhaps car rental if you don't have subsidized contract rates with any car rental agency.
Flights is probably the best option since their prices are close or same as the airline.
Sometimes, hotels abroad are at a decent price.

I was declined with credit score 805 and only 1 credit pull in last 24 months. I don't understand why.

This card is a joke. I have two accounts with them in good standing for years and credit of 750+. It's one of recommendation from Karma also. When apply this and they still deny.

C1's target customer is someone with pretty-good credit that will carry a balance. You were probably overqualified.

Currently have a regular Capital One Rewards card (no annual fee) and attempted to "upgrade" to this Venture card but they won't give me this offer. They said I can easily apply for this card and will be given the offer but I just don't need 2 Capital One cards so I refused.

Had this original C1 card for for over 15 years so I imagine if I cancel this card after I got the new one would affect my credit score. Am I incorrect thinking this way?

Capitalone travel price matches with public sites. I made a booking and then called them and they price matched immediately and gave me travel credit.

People should use the pre-qualify option before subjecting themselves to a hard pull. DM me for referral. Maybe that will help chances?
