For those who might have had this in the past, the $250 credit is no longer a statement credit but a voucher to use in the Capital One portal. The portal is run by Hopper and is absolutely terrible for searching. If you search for 3 people in 1 room and you will get rooms with one bed and an occupancy limit of 2 people. There is also no way to have it sort to include additional fees and taxes - you just get the base rate until you select your room and then they add all the other charges. Even if you're using points, you get charged additional points at reservation to cover the tax. There can be a limited selection of hotels in some areas, with many common brands missing (compared to Booking or Agoda, or even the major flag portals like Bonvoy or Hilton). The prices are nearly always higher in the Hopper/CapOne portal than one of the major 3rd party (Booking/Priceline/Travelocity/Agoda/Expedia/Kayak meta) site for both hotels and cars, and ofter more expensive than booking direct. IMHO, if you're going to roll the dice booking 3rd party, you should be getting a better rate. If you use points for other than travel (statement credit) you get 1/2c per point, so it really is a travel-centric reward system. /end rant

Other than that it's a decent card and the Eno one-time/one-vendor card numbers are very helpful.
I have had this card for a year and there has not been a single deal or opportunity for the points.
Same. 800+ credit score and got rejected twice.

I finally got my card. Definitely was a drawn out process. I unfroze my credit with credit bureaus a day before checking for preapproval. For some reason, C1 was pre-approving me for all other cards but the Venture cards. I still went ahead and applied for the card on 7/31, didn't get an instant approval and received an email stating they will let me know of my application status soon. But received an email a few hours later asking me to upload government issued ID which I did promptly in the next few minutes. They took a week to approve my application with $30K limit. I have a credit score of 831. I did not get the card number though. They took another 10 days to send me the card. I had a large purchase to make and was delaying it to use this card for it but this took so long that I just used my CSP for the purchase. Now I need to meet $4K spend in 2.5 months. Definitely, not a fan of C1. It only took me 3 days from the date of applying to get my CSP. This took almost 18 days.

I have venture x. Can I refer my wife for this? Is there a referral bonus on top of this offer?

Capital One Travel does price matching for hotels. The portal has its issues but calling in to price match is gold.

I've successfully price matched hotels 10+ times for huge discounts. Find the hotel on Google maps to get the best price. Get price match with Capital One plus get the 5% points for hotels (which you can redeem for cash). 🔥

As an upgrade, Venture X gets 10% cash back on hotels and rental cars.

Didn't Capital One change their policy so that price matching gives you travel credit, whereas before you would get a straight up refund? I know I'd rather get a refund than travel credit that forces me to continue using their portal, but if you regularly use it to book your travel then I guess the difference is negligible.

I had a similar experience. Not looking great for this card.

These are the worse people. They initially approved, I spent 4k and got the 75k miles. The next day they put restriction on my account and closed my account few days later. Now they are saying I can not use my bonus miles and also they can not reverse annual fee even though it's them who closed the account. Looks like many people faced this issue, you can Google. I would suggest to avoid capital one.
This is very very odd..I'm sorry I'm asking but the screen has an ethnic sounding name..Are you Permanent resident or citizen? If not this could be the reason they took away everything AFTER they approved the card...

My wife got the card and added me as account manager. For some reason, she can not register her account online due to phone verification. Everything including set up auto payment is through my log in now.

My question is:
I dont see $250 travel credit in the portal while using my login. How soon can she used it and if it is available can I use it from my log in?

Thanks

Ok this has to be a joke...I did a pre-approval again and this time it told me I qualified, so I went for it. Automatic approval and they give me a...$2,000 credit line??? Don't I need to spend $4K just to get the bonus?

Just got approved. Did it through the capital one app because I already have another card with them. Got pre-approved first, given lots of the comments on high scores and not getting approved.

Charge and pay it. You don't have to wait for statement end to pay. Instantly pay the 2000 and you can charge again.

Yeah I can definitely do that. It just feels a little insulting when all my other cards are anywhere from 3x to 10x more with my credit score. I'm sure I can get an increase after 6 months.

Anyone know if you can get a virtual card fast? The timeline they gave me to receive the card is a full 2 weeks later.

If I recall correctly, you can set up and use a virtual card in the app, once approved while awaiting the card in the mail.

Yeah I don't see any option in the app. It keeps telling me to "finish account setup", but that's only to add a second user which I don't plan to.
