I have one of these on an 85" and the 75/85 kit is a little too short to get the led strip close to the edge of the tv. You end up having to go 6" or so back to make it go completely around the TV.. With that said, it still looks really nice and adds to the experience. I didn't like it mounted on the TV, so I did an alternate install following the youtube video linked below.

EDIT: On a side note, there is a home assistant HACS integration for Govee. I have it setup on mine with an automation that automatically powers on/off the led strip when the tv is turned on or off.

I had the ALTERNATIVE-COMPANY-THAT-STARTS-WITH-S-THAT-IS-BLOCKED version of this, and the "camera" to map the colors worked horribly. I took it down the same day. I hope Govee does better.

I own this and use the large version on a 77" C2. The calibration is incredibly important but if your tv gets bumped at all it ls gotta be done again and it's a pain. I wish the camera mount was designed with ultra thin TVs in mind so that it wasn't so easily disrupted. That said I'd buy it again. It seriously enhances the experience with films like the Spider-Verse animation.

Have had this for about a year on a 65". The camera on top is weird at first but I am used to it now. Once you have it calibrated to your preference and the room is dark it's great IMO.

Light (other than the TV) in the room can distort what the camera sees. Wish it would work through a cable instead of cameras. Otherwise it works well and the OE app has been solid.

On a 65" be careful about not placing the LED strip right on the outer edge of your TV. Depending on your viewing angle you may see edges of the LEDs and it kind of ruins the experience for me.

I replaced a Govee T1 with this T2 and, ngl, thought the T1 was better. Appreciated the T1 from a setup point of view because I could easily mount the T1 at the bottom of the TV whereas the T2 Govee changed the design and can only placed at the top of the TV (unless you do some weird thing and mount it on a table top.

The set up was far far easier on the T1 because, unless fixed, you needed an iPhone to properly calbrate the camera and th screen...it just wouldnt work on an Android phone.

Lastly, I felt like I got better color production on the light strip on the T1 than the T2.

Is it really worth it? Not the deal, just the LED behind the TV.

I mean, I like to watch my movies in a completely dark environment. Does it really add to the experience to have this kind of LED? Like, if you're like me and watch a lot of sci-fi movies, for all the scenes in space or dark places, would it ruin the mood to add light on the wall?

I've got probably a first gen govee system that had light sticks you could either mount on the back of the TV or place on stands to shine at the wall. It isn't perfect. The sticks are only 10 or 12" inches vs a 48" tv.... So the colors never line up exactly right. They are close when mounted on the back of the TV in the center.

Before getting one, I felt the same as you. I found my set on clearance for really cheap and gave it a shot. I like it. Kind of like it a lot. Calibration was a big pain. I went back and forth in the app a lot and was getting pretty frustrated and fully ready to return it. I still liked what it was doing even when I was only kinda in the ballpark color wise. So, I was going to wait for a sale and try a newer version and see if the tech was sorted out.
I gave my setup one more last attempt and changed some settings that seemed counterintuitive to me.... But it worked.
I've since had them running for a year and REALLY like them. I turn them off and on sometimes and when they're off I feel like something's missing.

Is this kinda distracting... I don't know how to answer that. Yes and no. If you aren't zoned into what you're watching you might see the peripheral stuff it lights up. Myself, I've got a large tree vinyl behind the TV. I see it sometimes but mostly I'm completely oblivious to it. Sometimes it might seem like the system will throw too much light, sometimes not enough. Ultimately, if I'm focused on them they can be annoying. If i just sink in and watch or play... I like them a lot.

If you like to watch movies in a completely dark room because having ambient lighting is distracting then this isnt for you.

I got these because I thought it would be fun (it is) and because it substitutes for having a brighter light fixture turned on in the room.

I watch a lot of action and sci-fi movies and the lighting, imo, complements the visuals on the screen and feels like it creates a larger viewing space.

Now, one con in all of this is that if youre at all OCD and will be bothered by the colors not quite matching whats on screen, not moving in sync with action on the screen, or the lights casting shadows behind the tv, then this isnt for you because you will get distracted and that can be bothersome if youre really into pciture fidelity.

is T3 lite better than T2?. Heard T3 lite is smoother, and similar brightness due to W LED. $68 for 75-85" version. One camera on top looks better than two cameras. Any recommendations?
