This thing rarely budges off the $30 normal price at Amazon, but if you watch the YouTube "Tools Tested" channel (he loved it, and gave it a #1 rating -- just search for "Tools Tested" and "The Best 1/4 Torque Wrench 10 - 150 in Lbs"). Just for reference, 150 in lbs is 12.5 ft lbs, so this is for light work... like the type of work you might do on higher end bicycles, esp carbon fiber bikes. I love the fact it has a quick release (which you rarely find), comes with a blow molded case, has a 72 tooth mech, which is great for torquing in tight areas, and it even looks much nicer than one could expect from a $24 torque wrench.

About this item
  • 1/4-inch drive torque wrench with 20-150 inch-lb/2.5-15 Nm range
  • 72 Tooth Count for 5 degree swing arc
  • Durable ratchet head made from hardened treated Chromium molybdenum steel alloy (Cr-Mo); bright, full polish chrome finish wipes easily clean and resists rust and corrosion
  • High contrast and dual range scale pre-calibrated to ± 3%
  • Includes sturdy plastic case for storage and portability
  • NOTE: Unlock before adjusting torque and lock after adjusting for stability; after work is complete, loosen locking ring and adjust to lowest value for next use

Everyday price at Harbor Freight is $19. That's without any discounts, coupons, or sales.

Watch the video I mentioned above. The Amazon Basics blew away the competition. With torque wrenches you can def find cheap torque wrenches… the question is how accurate are they for the money? This Amazon Basics 1/4 was very accurate - I believe he tested all of them on a CDI Snap On digital torque calibration tool over 1,000 times per torque wrench. The Amazon Basics came out #1.

So? He reviewed multiple torque wrenches and has reviewed just about every name brand of electric tool product there is. Who dafuq doesn't have an affiliate link nowadays? That doesn't change the fact that he put these through a thousand cycles and the Amazon Basics came out on top. How do you think these guys pay for all that expensive testing? Todd from Project Farm has Amazon affiliate links, as well. Is Project Farm doing it for the affiliate clicks, too?

Idc, bro - don't buy it. It's a great deal for those that need a 1/4 torque wrench, and I trust the testing from the YouTube guy at Tools Tested.

I don't care much for what some Farmer Todd youtube/Tick Tock "influencer" has to say when they have a direct monetary gain over what they're shilling.

Deal dead - but even at $30, still a good regular price given the performance of this torque wrench

FWIW there are a lot of videos of folks testing the HF torque wrenches (inc Torque Test Channel) and they are also accurate. As another poster pointed out, the 1/4" is normally priced at $19.

The problem with the cheap HF torque wrenches isn't so much with accuracy, but that they can't be trusted to reliably and noticeably click when the set torque is reached.

Didn't know that, thanks.

Although in the arena of companies with atrocious quality control, I'd probably still rather roll the dice with HF than Amazon, lol.
