If they get new customers to stay for an average of 12 months or longer, they don't lose much if any money on this promotion since they can make the $450 back (rates are over 5%) while paying essentially zero interest.
The only way this deal makes sense for anyone is to pull the money out as soon as the bonus is paid and if you keep the money at US Bank longer than 12 months or so you'll be losing money assuming this money ( $8k or whatever) is already in a high yield savings account.
It sounds like if you have 2 paychecks around $4k each and are able to fund the account within 90 days, you get the $450 right?
It's as many paychecks as you get within 90 days. Some people get paid weekly, bi-weekly and monthly. Would love to jump on this deal except right now I'm doing Axos $500 bonus for paycheck deposits for the next 5 months
for those jumping on this deal, remember that as soon as the paycheck deposit clears, you can transfer it back to your regular bank. would love to give credit to the person that suggested this in the Axos deal just don't remember who it was.
What does the below mean? Am I eligible for the offer? There are no US banks in my state and I don't have an account with US banks.

Footnote stated "Offer may not be available if you live outside of the U.S. Bank footprint or are not an existing client of U.S. Bank or State Farm". Do I really need to be an existing customer of U.S. Bank or State Farm to qualify for the bonus?

yes. people got denied left and right due to no local us banks nearby
Thanks! My question is if I do direct deposit of $8k in 4 transactions(2k each) within 90 days, will i get $450 bonus ? Or will they consider 2 transactions only and give bonus of $250?
US Bank find excuses not to give the bonus. Happened with me twice . Reason they don't see the offer linked to account or promotion applied when account opened. My recommendation stay away . If you still want to go ahead then take ample screenshots while applying to provide as proof later on.
