u200 is a retrofit over your existing deadbolt, the u100 is a replacement

IMO the u100 is better and cleaner
U50 version doesn't have fingerprint feature. i thought I would use HomeKey the most but ended up using fingerprint more as it's faster.

I think they are quite different use cases. U200 is a retrofit kit to reuse existing lock and adding smart keypad feature.
U100(and U50) is replacing the existing lock.

I love mine. Got it for the same price in December 2023. I recommend it. Works perfectly to unlock using my iPhone and Apple Watch. Highly recommend.

Can anyone comment on doors that have insulation that require a force to close a door?

So context:
- My brother installed my front door and added insulation to keep out drafts.
- Currently I have a touchpad lock (not remote) that requires me to apply force to the door (i.e. pull close with some effort) during activation (open/close).
- If I don't apply this force the deadbolt will hang, and I get an error during lock/open.

This is why I'm suspicious about this remote lock/unlock keypad. I just don't see them working in the above scenario.

Have U100 too. Do you have any delay when unlocking with Watch or iPhone? And do you use AppleTV as hub or Aqara M2?

Yep, this lock still needs the door to close all the way, most locks will need that tbh. You can ask your brother to try re-adjust the hinges' direction so the door will close by default and hopefully that force generated is enough to shut the door all the way.

Sorry if dumb question, but if I buy two of these, would the physical keys be interchangeable? (ie could key from one lock work on a separate lock) - wondering from a security standpoint since I hear these are hard/not possible to rekey

I had to get a diamond bit to drill out just a hair on the actual latch, but now it works perfectly. Unfortunately this means that the structure of the latch is somewhat compromised, but if you're just looking for the convenience then that will work.

So this is weird. Most external doors - especially in NE-USA - need some sort of insulation. In order to get a good seal - there will be a slight force pushing the door inward (toward inside). So what good are these remote locks?????

I can maybe see some sort of lead in bolt pulling the door closed - but then the stresses on the motor drive would go way up.

EDIT: I bought one anyway :-) Thinking about adding to rear door - not has tight a fit as front door. Maybe use on Garage Door. I'm getting into this Homekit groove. Love to see what more I can add. I bought Aqara Video Doorbell G4 that I need to install (I'm lazy). I did not realize this was same company. I like companies that support Apple Homekit. Not a Google/et al fan.

As long as you shut your door all the way and the latch of the lock can smoothly goes through the strike plate and the hole then it should be fine. My door has insulation too and it does require the door to be closed with a bit of force but I don't have any issue with remote locking.

It use Schlage key. Rekey is tricky. Instead of using the middle of the key as stop to rekey, this used the end point as stop to rekey. It came with 2 keys. I rekey it myself no problem (I have a key copying machine). I bought some NFC pobs from aliexpress for a few bucks, but have to purchase $10 or more for free shipping. Sorry I forgot what is the frequency for it(Google it). Also used the hotel NFC card to play w it (Aquara charge $10 for 1 NFC), some cards work, some don't. But we never use the card or key fob. Always use phone or watch to unlock.
I think this is the cheapest that you can get work Apple home.
Very happy with my purchase.

The door should have the deadbolt lined up when you close the door and it latches. Your door shouldn't require you to push it in to slide the deadbolt over. Either the deadbolt or the latch isn't aligned properly.
