Just for reference, it's been about this price for at least a month and was about $150 back in June if you bought two single 32 GB sticks. That means this price is fine but not likely the best it will be in the near future.

You can also buy it for $165 from Newegg: https://www.newegg.com/crucial-64...6820156317

B&H (good for those who want to save on tax with the Payboo card): https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...b_kit.html

You may want to add that it's DDR5 5600MHz.

Keep in kind most systems support slower 4800 MHz ram and crucial doesn't make slow ddr5 48gb ram sticks for some reason.

It's backward compatible, so they probably don't bother. If you run these at the standard jdec settings it will default to 4800.

If you mean bios detects the fastest speeds on "load optimal settings". And then boot loops until you clear the CMOS battery. I suppose so. :]

funny, i just purchased the 2x24gb kit earlier today since 48gb seemed like enough for my proxmox server and $104 was an easier pill to swallow than 165. I guess good deals to be had on ram!

It's not made for someone like you. I just upgraded with this kit for a lot of heavy creative work.

Or running docker containers. Docker needs lots of RAM, even more so than CPU.

32GB doesn't work for me anymore. I need to go up to 64GB. If you don't have 3 Browsers with 100 tabs open on each browser, I don't know how you are living in 2024. Hook my brain into the matrix, I'm multitasking with the best.

Probably, but swapping is pretty much eliminated at the 64 GB level (maybe 48 GB too, I have only used 32/64). I would buy 64 GB if it's cheap, which I did for DDR4 at around $90. I don't have any DDR5 DIMM or SO-DIMM systems so I'm in no hurry for this deal.

As for your h3lla swaps, SSD write endurance isn't really trending upward anymore with the move to QLC and later PLC (5 bits per cell) NAND.
