I have the Segway F35 from Costco a while back. It's a nice scooter; surprisingly useful (in fact, I'll be riding it to my doctor's office today). Before I bought it, I checked its max weight limit (same as F40). After almost a year, the scooter still functions like new w/ no maintenance --> I've yet to change brake pads or even fixed a flat (knock on wood). Also, I've not noticed any battery degradation. You need to use the Segway app to setup it; but after initial setup, I just deleted that app (i.e. no need for app to use the scooter).
I've had my eye on this for a year and it's definitely the cheapest Ive seen it. But should I pull the trigger or just ride my bike and save the money. Hmmm

Bike is definitely safer
Nope, scooters are much safer, especially for me. I can instantly hop off if need be, which takes a lot longer on a bike. A bike has your legs on each side of a high horizontal bar. No such obstacle on a scooter. Your position is a lot more stable, still and consistent on a scooter than on a bike, where you're constantly moving with varying forces depending on how you're pedaling. On a scooter, your feet are only a few inches from the ground. In addition, energy is saved riding on a scooter, which can be used in a flash if need be. On a bike, constant energy is being used and you might already be exhausted, with slowed reaction time when an emergency situation arises.
F35 Segway refurbished for $250 purchased through Walmart -just purchased (2) and they look brand new, very happy with them!
Hope you bought 3 or 4 year cheap warranties from Allstate. If not, see if you can still do it. It's well worth it and I had a very positive experience with how they handled a claim.
The best thing about scooters from Walmart is the cheap Allstate warranty option. From what I've seen, it's about twice the price for only up to 2 years on Amazon, for the same exact scooter, with a different warranty company.
There are only 2 types of Scooter riders. Those that have crashed and those that haven't crashed yet. I hit some gravel last summer and did a Superman into the gravel. It hurt…

I'm curious why people fee compelled to drag these scooters into grocery stores. Instead of tying it to a bike rack outside. They appear to be illegal/restricted in a lot of towns nowadays and the minority of absolute morons zigging at high speeds on sidewalks are to blame. Other than that, in theory, seems like a good option for bike lane use in larger cities. Much cheaper than electric bikes, too, and those have become a menace.

They bring them in because of high rate of theft. Even with locks on bike racks
I am NO EXPERT in any way.
An aquantance recommended that if I get an electric scooter, get one with solid tires. He has that and says it's not the smoothest ride, but it's fine. His is also weight rated noticeably higher than this 220 lbs(270ish?)Say his climbs hills with ease. Maybe someone has experience with one Like this?

Not all of them have good contact points for a lock hence wary of theft. This one does tho where you can loop it through the front of the base. I think the g30 line doesn't have as obvious a place to put one. ES2 line too.

My guess is so that don't get stolen.

10" solid tires are best, for those wondering.
