Have the 8 GB RAM, and turning on the "reduce animations" (Settings -> Accessibility -> Vision enhancements -> Reduce animations (toggle on) made a HUGE difference and is a game changer! Feels much faster and snappier in response. Initially had animations reduced to 0.5x under the developer option, and still felt jittery at times. But the reduce animation makes this feel like a $500+ tablet!

Even the fastest SD cards are orders of magnitude too slow to be anything close to system memory

How did you use it with the app?
I had the app loaded up in the background, I went to the cb website, searched Samsung and it took me directly to the app instead of going to the Samsung website. I'm not sure it matters but I'm using an android.

Yes, the product page shows it can take micro SD cards. I don't know why the other guy said no... probably an apple guy.
There is a tool to push in causing a memory card tray to pop out. Not the old spring loaded slot. More like a sim card slot.

Been playing with this tablet for 3-4 days now and have to say that I'm sort of disappointed. It definitely feels sluggish. Screen transitions are not smooth. There's some lag when pressing an app sometimes.
Turn on developer mode and turn off screen animations/transitions - makes the device feel a lot snappier.

Thank you OP, repped!
Worked like a charm. Downloaded Shop Samsung app from Apple App Store. Created and logged into account using my work email that qualified for a Samsung discount. Clicked the provided link which took me to the product page. Selected silver tablet that people said qualified for free shipping. Searched Reddit for referral code and tried a three different ones till I found one that worked.
Final price, shipped with tax = $134.23!

Man, 1.3 pounds for an 11 inch 1080p LCD screen. Yea you get 90 hz refresh but that's not a good trade off.
Time to pump weights if that is too heavy.

Google for ways to debloat. If able to use adb, you can disable a lot of apps. I did this on an A7 and it made a big difference. I was tempted to get one but imo not worth $130 after trading in my A7. Also run risk of them rejecting my trade in like they did last time and never returning it (actually that was when I bought the A7!).

Referral code only works with new account?

I've never owned a Samsung tablet before.. I have an IPad Air 4. Would this be an upgrade for media consumption in the sense of screen resolution and responsiveness? Thanks

I got this from Raddit. Have you tried this?

As for the WiFi connection, I think I already figured it out. I noticed that when I use the tablet at work then I don't have this issue. I only encounter this when I'm using my home WiFi. I've read somewhere that Samsung tabs got issues with the WiFi frequency it connects to. Something like it's more compatible with 2.4 GHz WiFi instead of 5GHz. I read that If you want better range, use 2.4 GHz. If you need higher performance or speed, use the 5GHz band. So I just changed my wifi settings and enabled WiFi band steering which "automatically connects devices to the best available WiFi frequency". Ever since I did this, I have not seen a single drop in my wifi connection at home with this tab.
It sounds like too much work for me. Should it? It's a tablet not a space ship. I'm trading it in.

Same, they tried to send me a cart link with the promotional price and couldn't even get that to match the Samsung shop app price. Not worth it for me though, I'm trading in a 10 year old galaxy tab s for $30 - which they lowered to $12 so net marginal benefit for me.
Got it for $125.15+tax = $138.91.
Had to go through return order option and talk to chat with screenshot of new price. Got to take advantage of referal code as well to make price go down to 125. I just ordered a new one with $131 + referral code disc to $125. And showed them screen shot of total price after tax.
will give refund in 3-5 days.
Try ur luck took 20-30 mins

I thought I got a good deal back in April when I paid $165 for the same tablet. Bought another one for my grand daughter. Final price using app with military discount and tax = $135.84.

Managed to get one with some effort.

Got to say though, it's amazing how glitchy and broken the Buy Samsung app is. Incredible that a big company like that can't even get their shop app functional.

Hopefully there's a way to strip down the Samsung junk apps off the tablet and get closer to the vanilla Android experience.

I had to buy it again. It was a $35 difference. Already had the other one set up to be returned to Best Buy. Paid $136.
