I wouldn't spend any money on Sonos right now.

Their app situation is a disaster. Take a look at the ratings on the google play or App Store.

App Store, make sure to look at recent reviews.

Those may be old reviews and people complaining about petty things like in-app playlists, or alarms and all fancy features. I have a total set of 9 Sonos speakers at home, and all of them work fine. This is a good deal, and these are very good speakers for stereo environment as well.

The complaints about the app are very much recent and relevant. Sonos really shit the bed with the release, so OP's comments are warranted. YMMV when it comes to your own experience, but this is a good deal nonetheless.

Good deal. App will be fixed and is getting updates all the time. I have these already and they sound great.

I have more than a dozen Sonos speakers and systems, across 8 rooms or so. I've had Sonos for about 10 years I think.
This most recent app is actually quite decent and for sure they fixed a lot of the bugs. Yes, there is a learning curve after being used to the older versions, however all of the features are there and it's probably easier to manage multiple rooms.
Just to give you an idea, I have 3 kids and each has a different system in their room and each wants a different audiobook at bedtime and I typically manage all those streams of my iPhone. The new app is actually more functional because it is faster to pause or stop a stream in a different room.

I'm glad you are not affected by the severe reduction in functionality and increased latency issues with the new app.

my comments were only as an FYI for folks thinking of jumping into the Sonos ecosystem, do your due diligence and look at most recent reviews on the App Store.

Hundreds of people are giving it a 1 for good reason.

If this was 3 months ago I'd be all over this deal, but today I don't trust Sonos . I have over 15 Sonos speakers and although the hardware is great you also need great software to go along with it.

Additionally, they are adding in some suspicious design changes including sending volume changes through their API to the cloud when before it was local.

Played with Sonos speakers for a bit. I did not care for the idea that every little thing was app controlled. I'll just stick with my good ol receiver and towers.

App issues are a real pain especially with AirPlay. Half the time it does not connect correctly and continues to play without sound to the device. Just my experience. However when it works it sounds great.

I echo the app issues. Maybe not the app itself, but recently the AirPlay experience has been terrible. That plus the pull back on features that were existing in the app that I've used for years. Like a previous poster said, earlier this year before app update, highly recommend. Now, I'm wondering if my over 10 speakers throughout the house was the right investment. Kids room's speaker goes out during bed time story, have to monitor it otherwise it stops out of nowhere. Then there are issues reconnecting, again, could be attributed to AirPlay, but overall user experience has greatly depreciated

I recently got a Sonos Move 2 when it was a little over $300 and have not taken it out of the box yet because the app issues. If you check Reddit, there are hundreds/thousands of unhappy users with this new change and the response from the CEO was a joke. Many have switched to a $4 third-party app (sonophone) that may not look slick, but provides most functionality with a much quicker response time. I have invested a few thousand in Sonos products and don't like the direction they are currently headed.

i have two complaints with my sonos. 1. it requires to enable the precise location to setup the speakers in the app... why? 2. can't simply connect through bluetooth for sound playing, but has to use the app or airplay. i would like to play sound of my windows pc or any music player to sonos.

Are these worth the price as a set of TV speakers? Bought the Instacart gift cards for the Apple Watch SE deal but they arrived after the deal expired. So thinking of ways to try to use them since you can't return them. :-/

From what I remember reading they don't connect directly to a TV for stereo sound, so you'd have to have them connected to one of the Sonos soundbars for it to work with your TV (Ray, Beam or Arc). These two, coupled with the soundbar and a Sonos sub will provide a pretty good 5.1 set up.

Once you setup the WiFi connection through the app, you can connect it using bluetooth. If you have a pair, you can setup stereo using the app, and then connect using bluetooth, the stereo will stay.
