YMMV because 35 lbs of smaller kibble will take up less volume than 35 lbs of larger kibble.

Ah yes, 35 lb capacity, just 5 lb short of being able to hold a typical 40 lb bag!

I have a smaller one of these, and it has done really well with rice so far (a couple years at least). I'd say it's probably good/ fine for grains and it would keep the moisture content, but I'm not sure if once you turn the grain into a particulate if it would hold up as well.

These are notorious for not holding their advertised size (i.e., even if you had a 35 pound bag, it probably wouldn't fit in here). I have this 35 lb version, and I've found that it's the perfect size for holding a 16 lb bag of food in the bag it came in with room to spare. This is beneficial for keeping the inside of this thing clean and not getting nasty. This is a great deal, but just know that this probably won't hold but about ~30lb of dry dog food even if you dump it in there freely.

From the reviews, it's not weather resistant.

Great price! I formerly bought food grade 5-gallon buckets and twist-off locking lids as a solution to pet food storage. This is larger and costs a little bit less. I may grab one or two of these.

They're not critter proof either. A squirrel destroyed one that we left on our front porch overnight. There was birdseed mixture inside containing fruit and nuts. The squirrel chewed right through the lid and the gasket.

I keep chicken feed in these, but keep these inside another larger storage box to keep sun, rain, animals from attacking.
There is an o-ring on the lid, which keeps contents dry from moisture but I like the two stage protection to better protect from driving rain and more importantly animals.

I also keep wood grill pellets in another, these are partially vulnerable to moisture and haven't had any issues. However I do keep these smaller boxes in a cabinet which again protects from direct exposure to heavy driving rain.
